I make no apologies and do not hide away from the fact that I dislike Power very much but lets look at the fact just for a second.
Rioli made premeditated threats to a player. It isn't the first time and the weak club that you follow, knew this and has done zero about it.
Instead Koch comes out and plays the race card, so that poor little Willie can all of a sudden be the victim.

Now you call out the fact that I support Collingwood, as some kind of deflection mechanism.
If you want to consider something as "pretty pathetic", perhaps look inward at your own club.

They hit people in the head (one on field and the other off it) and inflicted serious brain injuries on the victims. I do believe AFL would have been aware of the Geelong incident but the article yesterday and Geelong today both said the AFL wasn’t informed because the player involved didn’t want to escalate it.

I love rioli but in all seriousness after the Hawthorn game this year the club should've quietly told him to ease off of social media and stop pouring his emotions out into it. It's a terrible platform to do so and it only attracts more backlash.

I feel like if he has made threats like this during games in prior years and the players wished to not follow up then it probably implies that he wasn't taken very seriously, and players shaking hands after games naturally cleans up most on field banter anyway, but doing it via a text message to another player was pure stupidity. If it was said jokingly it is still poor taste, but if it was a sincere threat then it's a legit concern.

If he was getting racist comments after the Hawthorn game then he will absolutely get more for this (and to clarify there are definitely very justified criticisms of rioli that aren't racist, but as we've seen in the past, the valid critiques will get mixed with the toxic ones)

Rioli is our most talented small forward but his head is not in the right place, he was already troubled before arriving at port but I feel like the club still hasn't done enough to break his bad habits or give him the support to control his emotions. It's too early to presume his retirement, but if he can't properly get himself some help, or even if the club fails to get it for him, then I doubt he will be playing footy much longer. He's already missed games in the previous years through injury and family reasons. I would like to hope that it doesn't end up the clubs fault, but the club has failed in so many fronts under the current regime that nothing is beyond them

I think he needs to be at a strong club with professional standards and supportive staff. Funnily enough, a move to the Hawthorn Hawks might be the best thing for Willie.

Really, you are comparing Maynards attempted spoil that caused an extremely unfortunate accidental injury to Brayshaw, to Rioli threatening a player.

I used to go up to Darwin for a weeks work every 6 weeks with my previous employer (did this for 5 years)

Always went into Mitchell street for a quiet bevvy or 4, and a feed.

I can tell you there are some very scary people in that city, as I often observed. Didn't even have to be late at night to see some trouble.

Wonder if anyone will take Rioli's comments literally and if the Bulldog players go out for a feed, something will go down?

It might not be fake. It might be that he's genuinely struggling, which is important. It doesn't excuse the behaviour and mean it shouldn't be addressed though.
The AFL has a duty of care to provide a safe work environment and protect all the employees, which by putting it in the too hard basket, they have failed in.
Him seriously struggling mentally and having behaved in a way that is completely unacceptable and requires sanction can both be true.

Just quickly Sentinel, I think Koch was making a point that Willie thought that sending it via private message would mean it would stay private, which clearly it would not and the club is angry at him for thinking like that.

"I'm making absolutely no excuse for Willie's private message after the game. But you can't mix on-field and off-field comments or it will lead to places people don't want to go."

But Koch, it's a pattern of behaviour for Willie that's heading in the wrong direction. Telling him "that's not on" doesn't appear to be making an effect. He was supposedly told this after the Hawthorn post (which imho wasn't that big of a deal) and he clearly hasn't learned a thing from that.
