He's not justifying the non-selection it's just that he sucks and doesnt deserve a game

what are you on about. never said he sucks, just said he hasnt commanded a spot. pretty consistent. But unless im 100% on the narrative of some people im the worst person ever.

Doesnt seem to matter that im not against his selection.

Btw did I mention im not on the selection committee. So no matter what I say, its entirely meaningless so justifying why Sid should be selected for pages and how bad the Crows selection committee is to me and how im wrong, it absolutely means nothing as it changes nothing.

I agree.

That argument gives "all of my exes were crazy" vibes.

Over 25 years the turn over of staff, admin, coaches and players and they are constantly wrong?

There is only one consistency in the equation and its unrealistic expectation.

I aamnot surprised that the loudest voices in the "AFC never bottoms out to rebuild" argument since Neil Craig are the very people that can't actually stomach what a clean-out rebuild entails. They are getting literally what they cried for and are still crying.
WTF are you on about?

There is one consistency and that’s been failure to win a flag.

As for your last paragraph, how is wanting a rebuild and criticising how we are handling some of our young players in that rebuild crying about what we always wanted? It’s a moronic statement.

why though. Berry is Sub. Just speculation but maybe the club has a plan for Draper, want him to play a full Sanfl game so he is primed for a full AFL game next week. We dont know.

You just have to find a way to get player like Draper in

Berry is not a good enough player that he definitely has to play ahead of Draper

Make someone else the sub

So then we are shuffling deck chairs. OK, what has Draper actually shown that warrants a spot? He will get games, just be patient. If we play Draper we may as well just go, **** it, lets play Ryan, Edwards, Dowling as well and call it a day.

What he has shown is enough for our recruiting team to select him at pick 4

Our AFL coaching staff should trust our recruiters that he is an elite player and select him as often as possible

The same can't be said of later picks like Ryan/Edwards/Dowling who may be more speculative

true. However, there has to be a reason his minutes are limited and he is being asked to play in the Sanfl. Its not form, my guess is its all to do with learning to play midfield. If they cant trust him to play full games with decent minutes at the moment then their is an issue he is working through.

I don't think it's either of those things.

I think it's because Nicks has his preferred best 22 and preferred roles. The midfield is Dawson, Rankine, Soligo, Crouch. Couldn't even get Peatling in there. It's all locked in from a mile out.

Draper is, at best, on the fringes of that plan but realistically not in his plans at all.

You have to remember that Nicks preferred team is set a long way ahead of the season, and it doesn't change much if at all throughout the year. Before the bye he might make 1 or 2 changes to the best 22 and usually those are fixing mistakes from the first 2 rounds. Only when the season is done does he try out some new players.

Form isn't a big part of how Nicks selects the team. Draper is simply not high in the pecking order.

I agree. All good points. But clearly there is something with Draper that hasnt pushed his name up in lights just yet. Nicks is crap at most things including selection but there are plenty of examples of players freshly drafted getting excellent runs at it under Nicks for Draper to be suddenly picked on.

Pace, burst, skill, and the capacity to impact on the scoreboard despite being hampered by being shunted to non midfield positions and often the sub.

All you're looking for with potential elites are the glimpses of the talent underneath. Of course he's not a complete product now. He needs, wait for it, experience.

If you can't see the glimpses, the problem is with you.

Where did I say that? I must have missed where Butters, Serong and Petracca all never showed glimpses and were dog shit when they were managed in their first season.

Sid needs to come in. I dont care where he plays on the field - but he needs to be out there.

Right and wrong.

He does need to come in. It DOES matter where, he needs quality midfield minutes. I am so sick of the graveyard half forward spot that our elite young mids are forced into to earn their stripes.

Imagine playing 12-14 years of footy being the best mid and then getting dropped at AFL level because you're struggling in an unnatural position. It's a wonder our young mids struggle to come on, we coach it out of them.

And continue to play Murphy in the middle in the two’s

I needed some brain dead time early in the week, so watched the replay. Nank was nowhere as bad as I has thought after watching live on the day.
He wasn't bad,.....he was horrendous, coaches have obviously given him the chance to atone.

Not one of these ins make our 22. None of the outs do either. State of their list is terrible, and we should win easily. If we don’t it’s not on talent.
Dante Visentini might not right now but I'd be happy to have him on our list as a young developing ruck and very decent back up right now.
