There are 2 completely different sets of rules.

Forwards can kick 10m and marks are called and can lay tackles and get HTB, defenders need to kick it 20m and rarely get frees against forwards.

The AFL simply doesnt care how it looks, they desperately want more goals and will do whatever it takes to get them.

Totally agree. The 15 m kicking rule is farcical at the moment. Follow the money theory applies here. More goals = more ads = more tv contract money.

Infuriatingly incompetent

The proxy holding the ball decisions - where a player is penalised with minimal prior opportunity as they struggle to gather a terrible kick or handball from their teammate - is debatable.

The 50, as far as I'm concerned, was there. Jiath was clearly wasting time and in that position on the ground, giving his defenders 3-5 more seconds to set up for the deep inside 50 is a significant unfair advantage.
