We'd better hope a tall doesn't go down in a final, then

Eh, we'll be fine. I don't think there is anything to read into that performance, outside of we have high-end talent to escape being mentally off against the dross of the league. As said, I don't think there were too many from our side that genuinely wanted to be out there for the first half.

Well, providing Thilthorpe is healthy. We're ****ed if he goes down.

Burgess had a "Not as bad as everyone says he was, but still bad" game.

If you like the player, you'd call it an almost game.

Taylor was excellent, he and Pedlar both showed the desperation needed to hold their spots.

You have three genuine match winners in Dawson, Rankine and Thilthorpe. And a fourth coming back from injury (Rachele).

Murray seems out of sorts, at least you have a more than competent back up in Butts.

Get that final win and secure top two 🙏

First match back this week for Butts. Murray would want to be careful, or he could lose his spot. Butts was playing better footy before his injury than Murray is right now.

3rd tall forward options should one of the big three miss

1. Burgess plays
2. Roll the dice on Toby Murray
3. Nick Murray forward, Butts in to defence
4. Curtin forward, Dowling wing
5. Go small

The option should be to try #4, and switch to #5 if it's not working.

That’s good, that he (Jordon) is back. I agree, the games I saw, he was playing really well.

We (WCE) are possibly looking to bolster our tall defender stocks, he would be on my list 😛

The three headed monster of Thilly, Fog and Tex works because they're all individually extremely good players and two of them are at least mobile and make space. Burgess sucks at AFL level. If Tex misses, we may as well just play another runner like Draper or even a medium sized player like Nankervis up forward.

This is almost switching McGovern for Otten levels of stupidity in trying to stick to a structure.

Welcome to Jekyll-and-Hyde-Land.

Get used to it; it's been worse, often (wait for Selection night melts!).
You'd think that brother-fans would have more tolerance (kindness, even) but some forget this is a discussion Forum and just want to be right.
Maybe a way to express frustrations about the rest of their lives. Harmless enough.

Still rent free. I could say the sky appears blue and you'd argue it was actually a lime green.
I have no idea what you are on about.
I said he’s no good, you’ve said the same thing.
A simple “yep apologies” would have sufficed.

I understand the security blanket Tex brings to a lot of supporters

But he wont live forever. We cant wheel him out every year

The coaches need to come up with other players or other strategies. ( I hope Draper seriously isnt it)

Nothing like waiting all year for the crows to come to Perth (apart from the freo game) and seeing them wake up half way through the 4th. That was not good for heart. The cream rose in the end and hopefully they learnt more from that than a 100 point smashing.

Personally I thought Burgess played exactly the type of game I've seen him play every single time for the Crows.

He absolutely tries his guts out but he's just the classical "too good for SANFL, not good enough for AFL" player. He can dominate games in the SANFL, but he gets dominated whenever he plays AFL.

Fog was well held. Could not clunk a mark in the F50. We’ve got away all year with our above average inside 50 Efficiency. Today was well done at 43%

Apologise for what?

Forming my own opinion after a block of games instead of just deciding your bs was gospel?

The last few games he hasnt done a lot wrong, he's been hard at it and could do a job. Tonight was a good opportunity and he didnt take it. On a body of a month you could probably say you'd rather want someone else there.

You're desperate for my respect or something strange. Why are you trying to score an apology? Unless you can quote me saying Jones was amazing or something.

Agreed, if one of them goes down they simply cannot stick to this stupid structure. It simply doesn't work with lesser talls.

To be fair their backs scragged like anything today, how filthy didn’t get any frees in the first qtr was a joke, Ginbey loved a scrag.
Darcy would have had 6

more than one occurance.

Some facts for context. Rankine is clearly a superstar of the team and has massive x factor. So to me a shit game for Rankine is exactly how he played today. He has a harder pass mark because we rely on him as all teams rely on our star players. Rankine himself will easily say that was not his best game. I refuse to pass efforts against a side where he should be absolutely ripping them apart. Was he bad today in a regular context of players, no he fought back and did some good things. Had an average first half and while he got into the game in the third, I still dont think he really hit his dominant best. He got us back for the win but honestly, had he and many others played like they should have at the beginning we should never have been in that position.

So to me he is every bit as guilty as the rest of the team of taking a holiday.

Rankine's first half was terrible, agreed.

His second half was immense. 20 touches and a goal is a massive half in anyone's language.

We almost always play like shite in the West. The ball bounces differently on the sandy soil over there. West Coast came to play and kept the pressure up all day. I'm happy enough that our class got us over the line.

We'll field a stronger team next week and hopefully won't be too flat after a 6 day break and the journey back from Perth.
