Does anyone actually know if Wanganeen is a yes man?

I’ve had no faith in the Port board no matter who is on it since the 2009 (I think) reappointment of Choco when it was obvious he was cooked.

Ken must be a good salesman to stitch up an undeserved contract extension and to cease a 149 year old club tradition. The board has been sucked in again. Boys club comes to mind.

I love this so much. It’s like the anti-statement to all that “you can’t expect to win all the time this isn’t the SANFL” garbage that gets routinely trotted out to lower expectations and excuse mediocrity.
Jack's Port always expected to win.

Well, it could always be worse.

Suns just appointed co-captains AND an 8 man leadership group..

Going by the usually very solid 'always do the opposite of what the Suns do' policy, this is all the more reason to not have co-captains.

Does anyone actually know if Wanganeen is a yes man?
Koch wanted him on the board because he didn't like Fiachi constantly challenging him.

Does that make Gav a yes man? Probably at the start of his term, Gav doesn't come across as a rock the boat type guy, but lets hope he grows into the role and is a truly independent thinker.

KT just directly responded to my complete shitpost to the membership department. Now i feel bad.

All I sent in was a response to the innter sanctum video of the captaincy announcement to membership@pafc.com.au and it said "great, now I get to watch a video that no one asked for."

He sent a full response.

Thanks Matt,

Moving away from a long held tradition of the Port Adelaide Football Club, is not a decision taken lightly. We agonized over it to be honest!

In the end, the decision was made because overwhelmingly the co-captain model, given the circumstances of our team right now, is the model that we believe will best enhance our chances of on field success.

That’s always been the first order of business at our Club, and we make no apologies for that.

The age profile of our players, and the unique leadership characteristics our three leaders will bring to connect the entire group were the primary reasons for opting for this model.

Whilst traditions are always valued and important, it’s our core values of winning, never giving up and absolute devotion to the cause that are non-negotiable and must be protected at all costs.

I’m sure that you would agree that Ollie, Tom and Hamish live and breathe these values and will lead our team with great honor.

Thanks for taking the time to write in.

I appreciate it.

Kind Regards,

KT

Hi Keith,

I very much appreciate the response. Though it has now been a while since the announcement it still sits really poorly with me but I can understand the reasoning behind it. Obviously we are all here for the club and ruthlessly expect success, and because of our passions for the club we as a collective react extremely sensitively to changes to our club which take away what we as supporters feel sets us apart from other clubs.

The response has been maddening and savage online and I must admit that I enjoyed just taking my time to settle into the season with the U23 match on the weekend - which showed great promise for the future.

There is an unfortunate stench of negativity that is permeating everything in the media (and our supporter base) at the moment, and the groupthink is sadly creating a huge disconnect between support and club - however emails like you have sent me, though i'm only one member, certainly help to bridge that divide.

I fully understand that you do and always will have what you believe to be the clubs best interest at heart. This captaincy decision must have been an extremely hard and brave call to make and I know all of you have copped it. Ultimately, we all hope it pays off. If anything, this whole thing has proved that Port Adelaide fans love their club (and judge it more harshly as a result!) than any other set of fans in the league and you have to be atleast a little proud of that.

Let's belt the Crows this weekend.

Kind Regards,

Matt

You should go into politics.

I didn't get a reply to my email when I complained that I missed a ticket to when port came to Broken Hill and thought it was pretty shithouse local members weren't given a priority of some sort ahead of the footy club hosting them, their members, supporters, and sponsors.

You have changed Feel.

I could just use my shitposting persona and been like "So we gonna win a premiership or not? You're all in on this one."

As Bomber basically said, I was political.

FWIW i got the exact same email from KT today.. word for word

ahaahaha it was a scripted email! Fantastic.
Actually mine included an extra line at the top which was "Firstly let me say, I understand and respect your position"

the rest of it was identical

I drafted my initial email while i was on the shitter and i wasnt complimentary at all. I think it began with "Thanks for this email. Its as weak as piss".. lol
