These are possibly the worst conditions in football with a home team that’s exploiting them. Brisbane have been just as bad with disposal but they know how to play here in March..
The cyclone Gold Coast played in against North Melbourne in round one last year was easier then this? Brisbane have just been the much better team tonight

Brisbane dominating in these conditions, look very sapped after the first quarter. We'll bounce back next week and hopefully with JK and Willie back in the side.

Rough trip to take for the start of the season, shouldn't have to head to Brisbane until mid year. What a bummer, Brisbane look like a good team finally

Reckon the Eagles would be happy to get the longest trip done and dusted in round 1. Obviously would have preferred a better result, reckon the humidity, greasy football and a quality young team has conspired against us. The first quarter showed what they were capable of, add JK, Rioli and Gaff and they should still go alright.

Brisbane/Gold Coast.. pretty much the same. Just a bad place to play footy in Autumn

I don't think you know what GC game he's talking about. That was a genuinely ridiculous match.

When our gameplan revolves around kicking and marking.. yes

Okay, okay, enough, I'm sold - where and when is your show and how much are tickets? "Worst conditions in football" result in 1 goal in a half of footy. Your comedy career is about to go off! Love it.

We played north Melbourne last year in cairns after a week of rain. The ground was a swamp during the game. Makes this game tonight look like a walk in the park

Meh, Buddy kicked 8 on us in round one last year and we went on to win 10 in a row. Playing with a bar of soap hasn't helped and Brisbane were pretty good last year despite a few close losses. Happy to get this one out of the way. A wake up call in round one isn't necessarily a bad thing, considering the conditions, 5 weeks less of pre-season and the amount of inexperienced players playing in this game.
