What makes you think GWS will do us any favors?

Any team for that matter.
They'll either ask for established players which we can't afford to lose since we can't effectively replace them or low ish picks that we need for Mills and Dunkley

Screwed this year and likely to lose a fair bit of experience to retirements at years end already

With the loss of Shaw, Richards and probably Goodes our depth in 2016 is going to be paper thin.

Anyone who thinks we are delisting guys like Towers, Robinson or B.Jack are crazy as they are playing games which means they are in theory better than the guys not playing games. The coaching staff is not going to delist them and make our depth situation even worse. None of them might be up for it in the AFL but they have to stay as depth.

AFL ****ed us hard :(

Do need a mini-rebuild particularly in defence..do we need both Mills and Dunkley, aren't both inside mids who are supposedly average kicks. Provided we can re-sign Tom Mitchell I wouldn't mind us just taking the better of the 2 and targeting some foot-skills or a pacy player who actually breaks the lines (unlike a lot of our quicker players currently who do not use their pace at all).
Although I can see the theory in just loading up with as much highly rated talent as possible, and they're both certainly the best talent available to us given our trading ban. Would really need to nail to late rookie picks though...hopefully pluck a ready made mature aged 21-24 year old KD or Ruck.
I'd take both Mills and Dunkley. But I'd also be inclined to trade one our current inside mids. But who would that be?

But I wonder what's the point in trading a proven quality inside Mid like Kennedy, Mitchell, Parker for a draft pick to snag unproven inside mid who may become nothing? and even if they do come on it will take a few years while Mitchell & Parker are still very young anyway and have shown they're up for it. As long as neiother Mitchell or Parker want out, we may as well just get the most talented of Mills/Dunkley and target other areas..but I can also see the logic in going for the 2 kids, and loading up with the best talent we can regardless of position.
Obviously Bird is the one who may be the trade bait if Mitchell re-signs. You wouldn't think Mills or Dunkely wold be playing big minutes in the midfield for a while yet so Kennedy, Parker and Mitchell are untouchable imo all could/should still be there at our next flag window.

AFL stuffed us hard :(
I have to wonder yet again - why are the Swans seemingly taking the trade restrictions lying down? The restrictions imposed on us will have a significant effect on our ability to maintain the strength of the squad, let alone improve it. Given that, apparently, we have done nothing wrong, why aren't we challenging this in the courts?

NFI sadly

Administration shows as much fight as the players

My worry with Dunkley and Mills is that for both of them it sounds like they have no problem winning the ball but both have questionable kicks. I just worry if we get them it will be more of the same in terms of our poor disposal efficiency going inside 50.

My understanding, from speaking to people within the club, is that we would win but would spend several hundreds of thousands in the process. Our relationship with the AFL would be affected and they would simply find another, bigger way, to screw us over.

Our academy would be gone within a year if we tried to fight the trade ban in court.

We should not be their bitch

Please please please everyone, when discussing trade targets remember we can't bring in anyone above the average salary which is under $300k so lots of names thrown up can't be had. Remember Lamb is on $300k/yr at GWS.

Also if the player is not a delisted free agent, we can't get them here because we won't have any picks to play with post the Mills drafting.

The only good thing about us sliding down the ladder is that we'll have more points to use in the draft! If Mills slides maybe we will only have to use our first rounder! I wish. Stuff you Eddie and the VFL.

Bigger way?

They already bent us over and went in dry.

We have some depth. It's just that when you are sitting 3rd on the ladder with a an 11 & 3 record it's difficult not to go with the core group that have got you there in the first place. With injuries to McGlynn, Rohan, Pyke, Laidler, regular ins & outs of players in every match, such as the reports to Buddy & Tippett, then the stability & continuity of the team takes a hit.

We know when we've won the last two flags, our back six have nearly played every match that season.
The back six more than any other line are the group that needs to be the most stable.

Every week we lose one or two from that line.
With Teddy possibly missing 2 or 3 & Laidler having ankle issues, we will be further tested.

Shaw had a crack last night. I love him for his leadership even though his body can no longer do what his mind is asking it to do. It happens. But I can now see why he & Goodes are still there.

Now we sit 11& 4 with more injuries & backs against the wall & the media & whole world against us.
It is what our previous p'ship heroes fed on.
It's exactly the stuff that drove them.
As a supporter, I can never give up on this club. I just won't. None of us should. We are the very people they came over to & hugged jumping with joy when they became premiership heroes. We loved them then on the good days. It is only right that we love & support them now. We may have to close our eyes at certain points of games, but we are a very easy club to love with what they have given us over the last 20 years.

We've been through this before, after we lost Kirk, Kennelly, Baz, Micky O, Leo, Crouchy, Jolly, Fosdike, Ablett, Buchanan, Benny Matthews, Nick Davis, Craig Bolton, ..............

How on earth do you win a P'ship after losing such a group of stars?
We did it. As a club, we found the players that were prepared to take us to the well again. Shaw, Richards, Mummy, Kennedy, Reid, Parker, Pyke.
We found them in all manners.

The dust hasn't settled as far as the Victorian media are concerned so they are looking to spill some new blood & with the recruitment of Buddy & Tippett, the jealous f . . Ks think there is nothing better than Bloods blood!

As supporters we need to back our club & not bag out on our young players. I was disgusted this morning to hear that drunk that can't put two words together in Robert Shaw, absolutely bag Towers. It's irrelevant if he's right or wrong, but these pricks don't dish out the same scathing criticism of their own miserable failing clubs' players.

Mark Fine lashed out on Tippett pretty much saying he was soft for taking himself off with the damaged hand.
He hasn't done any research to see how bad Tippo's injury is but was quite happy to go off early.

One more thing.
I'm not in the mood for discussing who we should have on our list & who we shouldn't have. IT'S TOO LATE!
We are 16 rounds into season 2015 & we can't trade players in & out.
So be realistic!

GO BLOODS!

Suckling still hasn't re-signed. I wonder if we could get him? Hes originally from Wagga and he would be below the average wage surely?

He'll be offered above the average salary by some clubs. One report said $500k from Brisbane.

I personally think he's not worth anywhere near that and in a side that isn't Hawthorn, he'd be nowhere near as effective. His kicking looks grand and sometimes is brilliant, but it's not too consistent IMO.

Has such a Malceski feel about it. Take him out of a good side and he would be questionale. At 350K sure, worth a gamble but it is exactly that.
