Not sure why this thread was open to posters.

It's used as a prediction of the teams and score so that we can inevitably laugh at the mod when he gets it wrong
That was the old mod
We have new mods now
Ones who know what they're talking about ;)

Can someone actually talk about this game and how it will evolve tactically?

Too much fluff posts so far... even the thread title getting ahead of itself which is amusing.

Is Nelson ready to go with a vest to protest his banged up ribs? Will Cobb be included in the playcalling because I wasn't impressed that he was overlooked for a TD last week.
Who will the Falcons send in to butcher the cook? Clearly there are lots of questions to be answered and nobody is talking about the game tactically whatsoever!!!

In the words of Tuna Parcells... pull ya heads out of your asses and get in the game man!!

I reckon the Falcons and the Packers will throw it a lot.....and occasionally run it.

Falcons need to run, even with many of the passes being 3 step drops they need to lean on the run to prevent double teams.

I think the falcons have a losing record when they run for under 100yds.

Including playoffs - 4-3.

Whats the next stat someone needs me to bust.

Was just joking in reply to Woodson's post ...obviously not a great joke....anyway..

4-3 doesn't exactly knock your socks off.

So if the Packers keep them to <100 that's step one
But if the Packers keep us to sub 100 AND BEAT US that leaves it at 4-4 and impossible to still prove the stat wrong.

What is the stat?

It gives them a bloody good chance to win. It's not like they're playing the Brown here, 4-4 is a good chance against a team hosting the NFCCG.

Obviously it's not the be all and end all, but it might be one key they'd look at

If this game ends up being Atlanta vs New England it will see the #1 scoring offense taking on the #1 scoring defense.

Past Super Bowls matchups have tended to favour the defensively stronger team.
XIII - Steelers d Dallas
XIX - 49ers d Dolphins
XXIV - Broncos lost to 49ers
XXV - Giants d Bills
XXXVII - Buccaneers d Raiders
XLVIII - Seahawks d Broncos

This was without a doubt the most epic Super Bowl of all time. Nothing even comes close.

(PIT)
S.Coates 35 yd pass from B.Roethlisberger (two-point conversion failed), 0:01 (41-40 Pittsburgh)

Failed the onside kick with 54 seconds to go. They ran 3 times, 3 timeouts, punted. 70 yd drive in 40 seconds to win with no timeouts. 3 big pass plays with Antonio getting out of bounds at the Green Bay 35 with 17 seconds to go to give me a few shots at the EZ. Would go down as the greatest game of all time IRL.

I'd say it heavily favours the NFC actually ;)
