I would rather develop Archie and have walker or try freeman as back up. This year is a midfield draft. I would rather roll the dice attempting to add depth to our midfield, I am a massive fan of midfield depth.we do not know how beams will go after this injury.will he break down againt?The more we add in terms of depth,the greater the insurance policy.


Plus Martin will not be there when we are in our next window , so get what we can, while he may still hold currency.Better that, than nothing at all.

That's the way I'm starting to see it as well. I just got this feeling that we want him as we expect McCluggage and McGrath to be taken already. I know the Suns are very keen on him and if we they offer us something like Pick 4+6/8 for Pick 3 + Hanley and we decline it you will know we want Brodie at pick 3. Just a hunch no inside word on this one.

Also reports over the weekend that GC and Lions felt they could do the Hanley deal as a stand alone which would mean pick 8 with something else possibly.

Makes me wonder, although i can't see GC giving up pick 6. I could see a 3 + Hanley for maybe 4 and 8. They would then still have 3 6 and likely 10 from JOM trade. Gives us 4 8 16 19 21. If we are only using 3-4 picks, we could very well play with 19 and 21 in other deals.

Dunno why we would think about giving up pick 3 as well. We have already given up the right to 1 of the 2 best performing players this year. Suns will probably take Ainsowrth if they grab our pick 3, we will then probably take Brodie maybe and once again, rumours of not wanting to go interstate.

Because GC could grab him, unless we have a handshake agreement with GC saying they wont nab our player then it's probably best if we keep pick 3.

Yeah they "could".

I just find the certainty people have about the draft order and each club's particular ambitions at this stage to be a bit silly - especially as it's pretty much based on online groupthink. The recruiters have more information to go on than us. If they trade down again it will be because they've read the landscape and decided that the benefits outweigh the costs.
