I think Adelaide are going to make a few enemies out of this draft. I received an email from Kieren Briggs' dad last night telling me the GIANTS have told them the Crows are going to bid for him which is why he's now coming to Marvel Stadium.

The Crows had better prepare for when Luke Edwards comes round in two years, I tell you what.

It will be very silly of Adelaide doing bids on players if there not serious, could hurt big time if the bluff is called, or as you said future f/s down the track.

Silly question, if we have dibs on AtuBosen- and we can place him as Cat B, why don't we just do it and as such how can in theory any other bid go on him if we have first rights?

NGAs are available for all clubs in the draft, but if they don't get selected in the main draft, they can be added as cat b rookies.

The benefit to us is that it will count as a first round selection for us giving us the flexibility to trade our 2020 first rounder if we choose next year. I kind of hope we don't as it will be a time to start reinvesting in the draft to manage generational change in the list. But it's nice to have that flexibility in case a juicy trade opportunity that we can't overlook comes knocking.

Yeah if we don’t trade into next year’s first round we must use a first round pick in 2020 otherwise the younger talent won’t be as strong coming through.

Oooh that late pick gives us some interest. A Hine special is on the cards. Could it be Marlion Pickett? Or is that all a bluff for some other WA kid? I like the intrigue.
