Realistically we are bottom 5 next year.

Realistically we were never going to be much more than bottom 5 next year unless we get substantial improvement from our young players.

We have been rebuilding this list for the last 3 years and in all honesty are still a couple more years away from finishing that list rebuild.

Does that mean we can’t finish top in the next 2 years, no anything can happen but we are knees deep in a rebuild.

Essendon were never going to take two first round draft picks, that wanted that AND a player. Anyone bagging the club needs to check themselves, we could not reasonably offer any more than we did. That the deal didn't get done is not down to us not being prepared to stump up a high price.

Very interesting as we in the past have not rated picks maybe its changed with Darlymple? wonder if Ireland was still in charge if things would of been different.

This changed 3 years ago, why is it only now people think we are changing.

This has been a very deliberate move to reshape the lust through the draft.

It's not just the failure to pick-up Daniher. The list went backwards AGAIN. Like it has every year since 2013.

i think our refusal to consdier players in a trade also means we are confident we get him next year anyway

So we ask did the former six make a better fist than the lower list of players. Of course not.They were not there. In the meantime we have filled 10 young men with over a hundred games and Cunningham & Reid are more aware of their own extra efforts and input.
