Still reckon Serong and Kemp would be awesome gets but it really depends what those two rabble clubs before us do. Every chance they both want mids too and take Serong and Kemp and leave us with either the rebounding defenders in Young and Ash, or having to take a Flanders or Stephens or Robertson as a mid, all of whom I rate but I wouldn't say they've blown me away enough to make our trip down to the bottom four worthwhile.

True, but it's unlikely that a player will get a career ending or career hindering injury. Daniher already has that injury.

Dees and Crows both need outside run. I don't see Serong and Kemp fitting their needs as much as Young and Ash.

Never heard of him, at least he's not with our first pick - but we may as well tell Ling and Stoddart to find new clubs if we pick him up.

I know the North rumour about Papley is most likely nonsense but, if they were really offering $800,000-$900,000k a year, then they need their head read. Papley is a good player but for that sort of coin you'd want a dominant KPF or a gun midfielder. There's suddenly so much hype around him but his reputation seems to have massively inflated compared to the reality.

Our engine room needs work. We should be targeting one or two quality inside mids. Brad Crouch would be a nice addition if he's looking to get out of Adelaide. If a decent tap ruckman was in the mix I'd also take a look. I'm not convinced that Naismith will be good enough for what we need.

I didn't read it that way at all. It sounded like PR spin. Until Joe actually officially asks for a trade then Essendon will run with the line that "Joe is a contracted player and he's working hard on his rehab and he's happy with our medical staff and we fully expect him to be playing for us in 2020".
