The video from Nine News showed Hartlett speaking very positively about his knee. It's likely the modified program is there to help ease the burden on his body as he comes back into game shape, rather thanany issues. I agree, no point rushing and would prefer to see Howard come in to give him more chance to find touch in the SANFL.

As if there was going to be a different outcome after his non-participation at full training. Ease him back slowly, at least a couple more games in the SANFL. If the difference between making the eight and not is Hartlett rushed back early, we aren't going to impact the finals anyway.

Injury list as of April 1, 2019

Ollie Wines – shoulder (assess)
Jarrod Lienert – knee (1-2 weeks)
Karl Amon – knee (5-6 weeks)
Sam Hayes – knee (6-8 weeks)
Charlie Dixon – leg (TBC)

So based on last night's selections;

Dixon, Watts and Patmore have long term injuries
Amon and Hayes knee injuries should see them back in late May or June.

Wines named for Power, Lienert, Grundy and Hartlett named for Magpies.

Edit Hartlett has pulled out with Hamstring awareness.

We might hear in 2 weeks if Watts is ruled out for the season or not. Remember them saying they will assess him 1 month post injury.

Edit: lol just realised I wrote 2 weeks.

Surely we can get Chief to auto correct 2 weeks to a Portnight on the Port board?

The AFL’s concussion rules are absolutely ******. He shouldn’t be playing for a month.
Hmm perhaps I’m wrong

Types of concussions

Concussions are sometimes graded on the severity of their symptoms:
  • grade 0: headache and difficulty concentrating
  • grade 1: headache, difficulty concentrating, and a dazed feeling for less than a minute
  • grade 2: grade 1 symptoms, with a longer period of feeling dazed, possibly accompanied by dizziness, confusion, amnesia, ringing in the ears, and irritability
  • grade 3: loss of consciousness for less than a minute
  • grade 4: loss of consciousness for longer than a minute
Returning to very limited activities following a grade 0 or 1 concussion may be allowable within a day or two. A grade 2 headache may require a few days of rest. A grade 3 or 4 concussion will mean at least a few weeks of recovery time. Regardless of the severity of your concussion, you should be symptom-free before returning to normal activity, and your condition should be carefully monitored by your doctor.
