Could easily be a top 5 pick
TrueVery speculative. Could also be another teens pick.

Yep - I think that almost salvaged the draftI think our best hope is future first to Giants for two of those teen picks we would then have picks 13, 14, 15, 16.

Are you able to trade players on draft night for picks?
For example, we go to GC and give them Pick 14 and player X for pick 5
Or we can only trade picks on the night?
Tbh I really want Callow, I think he will be very good.
My biggest concern with us trading next years first is the club undervaluing it. It could easily be anywhere between 5-10 based on form, player movement and the additions other clubs have made to their lists.Keep our powder dry for our 2021 1st rounder until draft night.
JUH, Braeden Campbell and Lachie Jones are all likely going in the 1st round. That means the 1st round will finish around pick 24. If Reef gets a bid, on or before the last pick in the 1st round, any deficit comes of our 2021 1st rounder, if we still own it. There's going to be a deficit of some type for Reef, IMO. Tricky situation. A bid after pick 24/the last pick in the 1st round, throws the deficit to our 2nd rounder. That's very risky, IMO.
If we trade our 2021 1st rounder prior to any Reef bid, we can only trade one of our two current 2021 2nd rounders, into this years draft to cover the Reef bid deficit. Not sure if we can trade our 2021 3rd rounder into this years draft due to having two 2021 2nd rounders. If we can't move the 2021 3rd rounder into this years draft, we might as well let the deficit carry forward onto our 2021 2nd rounder, rather then trade one of our two 2021 rounders in to cover the deficit.
If we've already traded our 2021 1st rounder before the Reef bid, the deficit comes off our 2021 2nd rounder. If we've traded our 2021 1st and 2nd rounder, prior to a Reef bid, the deficit should come off our 2021 3rd rounder, much like what happened to Port's deficit this year. I.e. it came from their own 1st pick for 2020, which was a 2nd rounder. Not sure if this is definitely the case.
My preferred option based on Reef likely getting a bid in the 1st round (between 20 -24) and leaving a 350 to 500 point deficit:
1) If we are allowed, trade our 2021 3rd rounder for 2020 pick/s to cover Reef's bid. Possibly Gold Coasts pick 37, Adelaide's picks 56 & 66?? Brisbanes picks 58, 63, 68 & 69, as they may not intend on using them. We can do this before or after Reef's bid. There's no limit of picks this year due the list size details not clear, so clubs can stockpile picks galore like when this whole bidding points index started.
2) If not allowed to do 1), trade one of our two 2021 2nd rounders, for points to cover a Reef bid. Hopefully, enough 2020 points to cover bid and another later 2021 pick. Say Gold Coast pick 37, if they are not going to use it and Gold Coast future 3rd rounder.
3) On draft night, offer our 2021 1st rounder to the club with the next pick in the 1st round. if there's no takers come mid-teens, keep the pick.
Yep understand that concern. I'm looking more at the likelihood. We've lost a few and will get back better than we lost, IMO.My biggest concern with us trading next years first is the club undervaluing it. It could easily be anywhere between 5-10 based on form, player movement and the additions other clubs have made to their lists.
What is this sorcery?

Needs:
Key Forward x2
small forward x2
balanced mid
What we don't need:
Ruckman
mid size defender
I think we would be mad to trade our future first plus this year's picks to get pick 2.
Jeremy cameroncost geelong 3 picks between 13 to 20. So in essence we would be paying as much (maybe more if we have a bad 2021,) for an untried kid as geelong did for Jeremy cameronPLAYERCARDSTART5Jeremy Cameron

If you want to go for something like that...just try to poach logan mcdonald in 2 years time when he is already a bit developed and pay the same price. At least we know how good he is by then.
For me, I'm liking the idea of Cook and Callow with 14 and 16. One adds some spark and one could project as a Darling type key forward. Then get Reef. Obviously if we feel a bid is coming for reef earlier, then I would consider trading 14 + 16 for a 8 + 2nd rounder so we get a higher end talent and have points for Reef.
He will be the safest selection. Long-term JUH, Hollands and Bruhn are all amongst my personal favourites to take that title but Phillips is your lock and loaded 200-gamers and not far off Rowell in terms of output.
Exactly that. Exciting highlights but just lacks endurance and consistency. Also hasn’t had much midfield time so there’s that’s improvement/unknown as well. He’s a second round prospect at this stage. What’s the knock on Eddie Ford - his highlights are outstanding.
