* List lodgement dates are yet to be made public, so are approximate based on past history and the requirements of the AFL Rules. When lists are lodged, the number of players on the list must not exceed maximum list sizes. At the same time, clubs must provide the AFL with estimates of total player payments in the current and following year, which must prove the club is not and will not exceed the salary cap. (AFL Rules 5.3, 6.1, 6.8, 7.2, 7.9)

Unsurprisingly TDK gets a mention;


The article claims Essendon and St KIlda will chase hard for him, with the Bombers supposedly having $2 mill in cap space.

I don't have any strong view on TDK, but the suggestion that 'we know the trajectory he is on. De Koning has superstar qualities. It has been seen in his brother, Sam, at Geelong
is odd to say the least.

Not sure TDK has demonstrated 'superstar' qualities to date and to suggest that we seemingly 'know the trajectory he is on' based on his brother's performance is just bizarre (Brett Goodes says hello).

As I say I have no strong view on TDK's potential recruitment, but I wonder which is his best position (bearing in mind his supposedly preferred 70/30 ruck split) and how much is he worth (salary and trade wise)?

We either get unestablished on the cheap or very well established for full price. TDK is neither

At this stage tdk is highly speculative. Yea he's shown he has talent but I'm not sure he has the size to be a number 1 ruck option (on decent coin that is ) he really hasn't shown enough to this point to warrant some of the numbers being thrown around. I suspect alot has to do with his brother and the bait on the hook is that tdk will have the same meteoric rise.

Would I want tdk? Of coarse but at the right price for a talented, developing but unproven ruck

I tuned in from 2nd quarter onwards and he seemed a real presence then. Must have been recency bias as I hadn't checked stats just what I observed.

For what it's worth, I was about to argue that Ladhams has been in the system longer than TDK but then looked it up and discovered that they were both in the 2017 draft. Furthermore, TDK went at pick 30 while Ladhams was a rookie pick. That torpedoed anything I was about to argue [emoji19]
