If it weren't England, they'd have looked the rule up.
So, what, England quickly ran over to the umpires and asked them to not look up the rule? That's the only way it could be cheating, and not just an umpire error.

In any case, it depends on what they think "the act" that caused the overthrow is. If it is the throw, then it's a mistake. If the act that caused the overthrow is the ball hitting the bat, then it's fine.

Whichever of those you go with, it's still not cheating.

Please shut the f*ck up about the last final. The Black Caps weren't robbed, If they could have actually held onto their boundary rope catches we wouldn't be talking about this. They didn't deserve to win the whole tournament anyways, and this is coming from someone who hates England more than anyone here probably.

I think grumbleguts has you covered in that regard. Well and truly covered in fact.

Stupid, evil bastards have gotten away with systematised cheating since cricket's first international matches were conceived. They tried to get Charles Bannerman to change sides before the first test and offered him all sorts of bribes. Thankfully, the thieving, greasy genocidal, grave-robbing, cousin-dating, culture-raping, d!ckheads who looked like they were poured into their clothes and forgot to say when, didn't factor anything remotely resembling loyalty when they approached him. Imagine their shock when he refused their advances.

Spirit of cricket and all that wot! Tally ho!

So Simon Taufel, the best umpire on the planet, was wrong then?

What a treat it is to watch Bumrah in action.

Best bowler in the world, an absolute master.

First saw him during a limited overs game around 8 or so years ago now; I remember Dean Jones commentating, called him The Grinch but clearly knew he was going to be a very special talent.

He's been even better than that though.

Or if they'd actually tried to score some runs off the last ball of their innings rather than Mitch Santner ducking it.
