I think with SA NRR advantage we probably want them to keep Pakistan on 4 points.

Having said that...just the type of situation where Pakistan pull one of their mind-bending performance swings and get the choccies.
SA still have to play India and NZ though so every chance they drop a few on the run home

If SA do somehow break the curse and make the final or even win the thing, Jansen is a sneaky chance at being man of the tournament.

It’s batter dominated and obviously QDK and Klaasen especially are in ridiculous form for SA but given that batter dominance, and the fact that Jansen has now taken 2 wickets in every game to date and made handy (one match) and incredibly handy (another match) runs, he’s definitely in contention

Geez does Rizwan care about his wicket at all? I played that sort of shot in year 7 cricket

To be honest to have any chance of doing anything this tournament they probably need him to play this way. The majority of their batsmen are decent but steady, with Babar being the rolls Royce epitome of that description. Given the runs being scored, they need someone who can really flip an innings on its head to fire for them

Jesus Christ has their ever been a luckier drs team than south africa

That is ******* insane. ball sailed past bat with no noise, he was on one knee sweeping with arms hitting pads, the little spike aligned with the ball passing his right glove, and front on showed clear daylight between the glove and ball.

nah, 60yo umpire with no technical understanding OVERTURNS it based on that s**t.

Nichols: “thumb of the right glove must have been…. maybe..” - with front on showing not a chance of that.

how in the blue hell can that conclusively overturn a decision.

Just so sick of archaic sport administrators employing the old boys in jobs they adjust simply aren’t qualified to do.
Should be a 25yo kid who specialises in video tech, with zero care as to whether he even knows what cricket is - the brief should simply be, can you conclusively make a decision based on the footage?

How can they adjudicate that the spike in ultra edge wasn't from the batter's arm brushing the top of his pads? I think sometimes we naturally get focused on the area around the ball (outside of bats hitting the ground) and forget other moving parts coming into contact.

60yo bloke who’s been in and around cricket all his life sees spike, presses button.
That‘s how

I tend to agree. And again, the quality of technology for this world cup has been appalling with the lack of clear and multiple camera angles.

What a farrrkkking crock of $hit. Call the wides you moron. How could that last call come through so late??? It's mind-boggling. Was he tipped off by the third umpire like in NRL?
