List Mgmt. 2023 List Management thread

Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

I’ll put it this way - I don’t think swapping Schultz for Brockman improves the side in the short term and there’s no guarantee it does in the long term either. Brockman is more talented for sure but is currently behind Schultz on almost every stat.

People are quick to write off any forward we have that isn’t Amiss or Walters. Schultz is actually a pretty solid footballer who’d walk into most teams in the competition, if not every single one.

I’m all for adding Brockman btw but we should be doing everything within reason we can do to keep Schultz. I’m sick of losing decent B Graders (or A Graders) and replacing them with draft picks.

I don’t mind Schultz either. The problem is he’s our third best forward, but if we were a really good team he’d be the 6th or 7th best. That’s the issue.

Nah. He’s starting to come good. Showing his first round selection. His pace, long kicking, and set shot are hard to come by.

Getting rid of Sturt after he played the last 10 games of the season because we signed too many spuds like Corbett and a few others to unwarranted deals beyond 2023 would truly be peak dockery.
He’d be over at Hawthorn or the cats next year and have 20 goals kicked by the bye no doubt

Shultz, Treacy, Switta, Jackson and Frederick all are 1 goal a game players, which is fine.

We lack 2 plus goal forwards, only Walter and Amiss.

Swapping a one goal forward another one goal forward is pointless.

Easy to say somebody doesn't work hard enough when they are recovering from long term injuries.

But we have other guys that have the same work rate as Sturt, but less or no AFL attributes. D grade ceilings.

2 goals / game: Amiss
1.5 goals / game: Jackson / Treacy / Schultz / Freddy

Need 1-2 midfielders to become goal a game players. That’s what we are missing.

I think we only have one goal every two games player (Brayshaw) atm.

We probably need a quarter of our score from non-forwards (hopefully around 4 goals in the future). Feels such a long way off tbh.

evils were into their second drug cheating phase and it was so out of hand, player health was secondary to ladder position
