Cmon Ted..there is some overreacting going on here. Any team would love to have him. He is out of form and can be disappointing at times but if he hits his best it would make a huge difference to us. Overpaid yes but we can't just let talent like him walk out. Hope he does do a Dusty against Richmond
The second worst team that is depleted. We’ll win by 80 points.
He’ll have his slalom skiis on.

I don’t know but if he gets back for the last couple that’s beneficial. A player we get at pick 10+ in the MSD would just be a list clogger
I still don't know how people think MSD picks are list cloggers. Majority are 6 month deals, they simply can't clog the list.

Chad is not worrh more than Dawson was back then. Dawson a far more consistent footballer & improving. Chad can’t play midfield & perform consistently.
I reckon Dattoli will eventually offer more. $1M for Warner’s output these last 3 years is getting stitched.
You do realise that the "3 years" you mentioned includes 2024? The year that Chad Warner was selected in the All Australian team, was 11th in the Brownlow medal and 3rd in the Bob Skilton medal? Also 4th in the B & F in 2025?

He might not be dominating this year (yet!), but don't just dismiss his career at the Swans without thinking carefully about recent history.

There are 12 shit teams in the AFL that he can bully up on & some years we play those teams twice. Hence why he didn’t win it.
What I’m saying is for the money he is on & the money we will have to fork out to keep Chad, he doesn’t produce in the big ones.
He’s a terrific player when all is going our way.

Mellis must have wanted the 18 month contract from us, only logical reason not open up a spot for him, or they think he would go before our pick.

Or and here is the main thing, he wouldn't get a game ahead of how many small options for us? As if he's ahead of Rosas, Dattoli, Hanily, Campbell, Cootee, Paps. That's 6 in that area (with your Phillipou types likely starting HF), only one is out long term in that lot. So the plan is what bring a 6th in? 18 months or 6 months, what would be the point? Surely the aim has to be pick a guy we think can play in that contracted period, otherwise it's a waste of time.

Now an inside mid, I'd be interested in but there aren't that many available.

Demons have spoken to Mellis i believe , hopefully he's a part of a VFL flag ,it's been a long time
They have 3 picks, so good chance them or one of the other 2 clubs in the 3rd round may take a swing? Port and Pies

He had a blinder against the Pies, and got 10 coaches votes against them.

My moves at the end of the year would be:
Enquire about Serong & Petracca
Trade Warner and retire Lloyd and Rampe

Offload another player or two if needed to make the salaries fit.

I'll probably cop heat on Rampe, but time catches up to everyone.
Petracca?!? He hasn't even finished unpacking!

We have no one to put on the list unlike last year. It’s likely all of Campbell, King and Andrews are back in the back half. Way more beneficial those three getting vfl games than a filler at best in the MSD not as if we get pick 1-5 in the MSD
I just hate myself when I agree with you so much.
