This NZ side today, would get beaten by an Australian 2nd XI. They have been poor to be honest throughout this series.
But good for New Zealand.

Phillips has looked terrible

He was one of our best batsmen again, 40 off 24 balls is a good knock, he had to play a great knock to make up for our other duds though.

If we had Conway, Ravindra, Williamson and Mitchell all available we probably would have won that game and the series.

Hopefully we get them all back for the test series.

There are 4 or 5 that would be 2nd XI for NZ as well. Conway, Williamson, Ravindra and Ferguson all walk back into that team

Given that this New Zealand team beat Pakistan recently 4-1 on their home patch, it probably also indicates that Pakistan are a mile behind Australia.

Rauf, Afridi looked very attackable.

In World Cup, England v Australia should be a close battle.

India should smash Pakistan on paper.

And West Indies can cause some trouble to NZ especially in their own backyard this World Cup. I havent really seen much that impressed me much about NZ this series. West Indies played well against Australia despite losing the series 2-1 to Australia.

Why are they not playing?

Remember there is still the IPL to go and they are counting that as form so squad will not be picked for some time ..so that gives Green another opportunity

and I still believe we need another specialist spinner in the squad so Agar will be in the Frame

and you have to consider this World Cup is not being played in Australia......its on low slow tacky wickets in the West Indies and USA
Agar is lucky to get a game for the Scorchers.
He's miles off a T20 return.

I reckon the Aussies have pigeon-holed Green for test and 50 overs.

Chris Green, Maxwell, Matt Short have overtaken A Agar as spinning all-rounders. Well Maxwell was a lock as a batsman anyway. Zampa is 1st choice spinner. Feel like having 3-4 options is good, with Travis Head a potential to roll his arms if need be.

Only way A Agar gets back into this Australian team is if he lifts his batting. His batting has fallen off a cliff past 2 seasons.

They are either injured or being rested, hopefully we get them all back for the test series as I can't see us being competitive without them.
Being rested? We have people around here whinging that we don't go over to NZ enough, but if that is how they treat part of one of their biggest visitors touring then maybe we should go less.

They have all had injury issues, if they were fully fit they may have played more in this series, I'd rather they missed the T20s than the tests

There was no point risking any of them today to play in a dead rubber that ended up being a farcical 10 over game.

No point in them playing for their country to avoid a humiliating home series white wash?
Tells you everything you need to know about New Zealand loser mentality.

So Australia have never rested their players when they have had injury issues or to save them for more important matches like tests?

Why didn't Smith, Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood play every match of this T20 series?

Well the difference is NZ's depth is like div 2 grade cricketers.

At this stage this is how I'd line up, for our first World Cup game

Warner
Head/Short
Marsh
Short/Head
Maxwell
David
Wade
Starc
Ellis
Zampa
Hazlewood

Look we'll just won't do as many white ball tours then.

It's not like limited over cricket is imperative for your board making money or anything.

Cummins was literally MoM in our last game, he is playing ahead of Ellis. Ellis is quality backup though and more than likely plays at some stage during the tournament.
