'Daily Mail Australia can now reveal Stein has since been charged with firearm possession and two counts of possessing child abuse material.

Stein's case is due to in Penrith Court on Friday with the new charges, but will be adjourned to July for the service of more of the police brief while his solicitor is in Covid isolation'

'Stein did not appear on screen from Silverwater prison, where he is believed to have been held since his arrest in January.

Magistrate David O'Neil had set the next hearing for the murder charge on May 20.'

Started off thinking she was killed in a meth fuelled rage, now I'm thinking he was abusing her, she threatened to tell her mum and he killed her to keep her quiet.

Hearing the news that bio dad was raising 'memorial funds' despite not seeing her in years, and bio mum using meth too, this poor girl never stood a chance.

It might appear someone is giving the police information .... ?

About three weeks after Charlise was killed, the police found weapons in bushland going to charges and he has an aggravated break and enter in company charge as well.

The fresh charges relate to two firearms and ammunition found by police in bushland near Mr Wilson on February 3.

Stein was visited by homicide detectives at Silverwater jail on Thursday, arrested, and charged with with two counts of possess unregistered firearm, two counts of possess unauthorised firearm, possess ammunition without licence/permit, and aggravated break and enter in company.

Two counts of possess child abuse material were for unrelated matters, police said on Thursday.

Yep. Called it at the beginning.

The police aren't saying yet if they've found the gun involved in Charlise's murder, these weren't.

Court documents allege Mr Stein stole the two guns from a neighbouring home of the property in August last year and is also charged with one count of aggravated break and enter.

A silver serving plate, an electric blanket, a silver gravy boat, knives, forks, binoculars and a silver lighter were among the other items stolen by Mr Stein, who "was in company of another person", court documents allege.

Mr Stein has also been charged with two counts of possessing child abuse material, which investigators say is not related to the death of the nine-year-old girl.

He did not front Penrith Court today when the prosecutor indicated that 120 items of "significant" new evidence had been seized, including from his electronic devices.

Court documents allege he did "possess … videos that depicted material in a manner that would in all circumstances cause offence to reasonable persons and is a person who is a child in a sexual context".

'Police do not believe the shotgun and rifle were used to kill the Tweed Heads schoolgirl, despite confirming she died from a single gunshot wound.'

When I saw 'child protection workers' earlier I understood it as being social workers not police members but now they're reporting as 'squad' I think that means specialists investigating possible child abuse.

Looks like we know why they were there now

So while in company, Stein stole guns, a silver serving plate, a gravy boat, knives and forks ..... I'd take a wild guess that the person he was in company with at the time was a female.

What kind of bloke with his eye on guns would think 'oh look, there's a gravy boat'.

She'll be cooperating fully imo.

Especially if she was a party/had knowledge of in any way, to the break/entry/stealing alleged crime.
Might have any potential charges against her part in it, dropped for cooperating. (immunity from prosecution, if the victims agree to that)

JS was in court today.

No further court action scheduled until in 7 weeks time (until Friday 2nd September).

'Charlise Mutten’s stepdad and alleged killer to remain in jail'

'July 15, 2022 - 4:42PM'

'A man accused of murdering his nine-year-old stepdaughter while the family holidayed in the Blue Mountains will remain behind bars on remand for the foreseeable future.

Justin Stein, 31, appeared in Penrith Local Court on Friday after being charged with a raft of offences, including murder and possession of child abuse material.'

'While in custody at Silverwater Jail for the murder charge, the ex-tradesman was charged in May with two counts of possessing an unauthorised firearm, two counts of possessing an unregistered firearm, and one count of possessing ammunition without authority.

Mr Stein was also charged with two counts of possessing child abuse material, which police assert is not related to his stepdaughter.'

'Police allege Mr Stein stole the two guns from a neighbouring property in August 2021 during an aggravated break-in, for which he has also been charged.

Police do not believe the rifle and shotgun were used to kill Charlise.'

'On Friday, Penrith Local Court was told Mr Stein had not entered pleas to the nine charges laid against him.

His matter was adjourned until September 2 to allow all of the evidence to be served on the defence.

The 31-year-old will remain in custody on remand for the next seven weeks until his next court date. He has been behind bars since he was arrested in January.'

These rehab programs don’t seem to have a high success rate, at least in this case. I’d still like to know why Kallista went off to stay in a caravan park and allowed her daughter to go away with JS. It’s very suss.
It sure is very sus! The poor little kid was left alone with that monster while her mother took off overnight to the caravan park - and Kallista knew damn well what happened because there are phone calls traced where she and Stein discuss where to buy sand bags to weigh the barrel down. I was told she was doing drug deals at the caravan park but won't say that is 100% correct till it is confirmed legally.

Nothing would surprise me and we haven’t heard the half of it. I feel so sorry for the grandmother who let the child go to her mother for a short holiday. She must regret that decision every day 😢

She was in the high dependency unit of the hospital the same time I was in the private hospital section from having a operation and was told by one of my nurses her antics. the impression was that she felt sorry for herself losing a 'golden goose' namely Steins rich family where money was not object more so than her poor little girl. She was also 15 weeks pregnant and said if his family don't want anything to do with her then she demands a abortion. I don't know the outcome of that.

Utter trash. I hope they can pin something serious on her as well. Get her dirty nasty arse out of circulation for a long time.

I agree 100%. She played the nurses while having her alleged 'medical episode' to avoid speaking to detectives (I think to us mere mortals it's known as a druggo hanging out for a fix) she would change storylines to gain sympathy which she got till they woke up to her antics. A drug deal gone wrong she mentioned often apparently but again, it's up to the legal experts to get the exact truth. He wasn't long out of jail for drug dealing, she was in jail when he met her - how does that work?
