I think next time Richmond shouldn't give away free kicks, would solve their problems
Hard to do thst when there is two different standards being applied for two teams. We couldn't buy a holding the ball today. But two were paid in your forward 50 with no prior st crucial times.

My issue with the Taranto free is they pinged him for no attempt.

Nearly every time a Dees mid was pinged, they either let the ball go to drop it, or just took the tackle, neither are attempts to get rid of the ball and none of them got pinged for it.

It's dodgy af when they pull out a free out of nowhere that was let go for 70% of the game up until that point and then they don't pay it again afterwards.
That's what the commentator said, but he got it wrong.

Taranto had clear prior opportunity. Attempting means nothing after prior, you have to get rid of it and he didn't. It was the correct decision.

He had only just taken possession. If they were to apply that rule like it was called on TT we would be dealing with AFL23 type stuff. That's not the game we want.

Except we didn't, you Tigers supporters always play victim because you watch the game with one eye.

You played well but the better team stepped up when the game was there to be won.

First half our defenders were horrific. No denying that.

But we got 1 free kick in a half of football.

In a half that was wet, slippery, holding the ball was being judged harshly, it seems incredibly unlikely that a team is so disciplined in those conditions to only give away 1 free in a half when they gave away 8 in the previous half.

From a purely statistical and consistency point of view, the Demons got a rub of the green in the second half. In terms of what they paid and what they didn't.

That being said, had our defenders not been absolutely torched, it would have been even.more apparent.

But when your defenders (Grimes the worst culprit) are making stupid mistakes gifting easy goals, it's easy to point to that as the only story and ignore everything else.

It was pretty much a combination. Our poor defending in the first half didn't seem so bad when we were winning the free kick count and clearances. In the second half (particularly after the rain came down), once we started losing clearances, the free kicks I think started to become far more focused and the Taranto and Hopper decisions meant us Richmond supporters would always be casting an extra glaring eye over every decision, which in turn makes everyone even more upset about ulpiring decisions.

At the end of the day there were decisions that cost us momentum, but our poor defending and inability to win a clearance in the last quarter were the main reasons we lost.

Imagine being a top 4 team and you trail a team outside the 8 and have the umpires carry you to a weak win.
lol didn't all the top 4 lose this week, except for us😅

Also, richmond fans not gonna mention the fortunate scrub off solo's boot that landed on the chest of a Richmond forward? pure luck and scrubbery.

Are Richmond blaming the umpires for a 32 point loss where they lost the inside 50 count by 28 and only conceded 11 free kicks for the game?

That should have been a 50 point win

You don't actually believe that they were umpiring differently for each team, that's next level dumb

Richmond always think they're hard done by. Nothing new here. It's their own fault for capitulating in the last quarter.

I know how you feel, we played a game once where we had only 2 frees nearing 3 quarter time! From memory it was against Richmond this afternoon at the G. God you lot are insufferable.

Lies. Opposition never have less than 6 free kicks against us at 3/4 time. ;)
