You went into this game with still a chance to make the 8 so why tank now
Not tanking, just not very good.

List needs a rebuild, thats okay it happens after a period of success.

We'll do our time rebuilding the list now, just need to find the right coach to oversee it.

Rioli is a fine player though he has looked a bit battered and bruised recently. May give him a spell soon
He tends to get like that throughout the season, not sure why. Maybe the lighter build. Always seems to get a few sore ankles/ corkeys.

Will be wise to rest him. Want to get a few games into the younger guys but also give the old guys a send off.

Once Dusty was rested last week it was curtains on the season. Richmond are taking pee today. If they were playing for their season this would be a very different contest.

Enjoy the win and playing some finals.
You keep telling yourself that if it makes you sleep better at night.

I imagine round 1 next year we'll see Sonsie, Gibcus, Clarke, Banks, Ryan and Brown all in the side, amongst someone like Lynch and possibly others in Rioli Jr and Cumberland.

It'll be a completely different and much younger side coming through with a new coach. It'll be some tough times but it can be enjoyable when the next wave finally piece it together.

They (Richmondl might as well stick with McQualter as coach for at least the next 2 years because their list is clearly cooked and it's going to be a long road back for them play finals again. Not sure if their job is actually appealing for any potential candidate

Which would you rather, reigning premier with a chance to still make September or miss finals twice in the space of three seasons?
But you are missing the fact that Richmond is only 4 premiership points behind the reigning premier on the ladder at the end of the season and neither of them are in the top 8 and both are a mile off the best sides.

Good win, bank the 4 points and some percentage and move on, we have bigger fish to fry next week against Geelong, that game will be huge.

Next Saturday night at Marvel, be there or be square.

Once that final siren went, I changed to a Saints supporter, for 2023.

Spread hard, make them run and their defence will open up.

It's actually an interesting thought, you set him up to fail and he becomes the fall guy, but someone needs be around for the rebuild and get a couple years of good drafts.

Then you bring in someone from 2026 who you want to actually build the group up the ladder.

I'm sure you said the same about Collingwood two years ago.

Who knows, you may be right or completely wrong.

But you are just shooting from the hip because lol it's internets

Balta, young and Gibcus are a pretty good backline to start a rebuild with.
Key Backs have potential , the Rucks and Key Forwards will be an issue going forward.

Midfield will be okay we’ve got some good young players that just need to get games into them but the talls in the middle and up front are the worry.

Saints to good today and good to see Membrey back underrated player , very good pairing with King. Very quick from the saints flankers at both ends today hard to keep up with that run.
Good luck in the finals.

Everyone focussing on how crap Richmond were....but credit to the Saints for getting back to a more aggressive high-scoring approach after a pretty dull dour effort last week.
Actually the first half was fine.
The second, well worth forgetting.

Ross only opts for the shootout against bottom sides he knows he can beat.

But against quality opposition he's all about turning the game into a slow scoring grind.
