Wonder when this will be brought in over here

From McGowan’s “road map” press conference the other week it sounded pretty certain that that’ll be one of the restrictions brought in when the borders are opened up.

I’ll believe that when I see it - if they haven’t got it yet then why the hell not?
Probably just waiting for the novovax . Better immunity, no side effect apart from the usual potential allergic reaction like most normal vaccines and with 30 + years of these types of vaccines in use the long term side effects are known .

Do you sincerely believe a large part of the antivax movement is simply waiting for Novovax to arrive?

I'm willing to bet a large sum of money there won't be a surge in vaccination rates when it happens - maybe an increase of 1%, at best. My view is that most of the objections to vaccination are ideological and political in nature, not scientific - because if you truly did trust the scientific experts on this, you'd happily vaccinate with Pfizer and other mRNA vaccines that have been approved for use all over the planet.

If a protein-based vaccine comes on the market, the goal posts will simply shift again (we don't know the long term effects of Novovax!)

Yep most so called anti-vaxers are all fully vaccinated except the covid jabs .

New technology with long term side effects <unknown>

Pharmaceutical companies given immunity from liabilities.

Calling someone an anti-vaxer is like calling someone a racist. It gets thrown around all too often for the wrong reasons .

According to official statistics, 95% of children are vaccinated for measles. This is a vaccine that is long proven and not controversial, for a disease that is visible, easily contagious and potentially fatal.

NSW will likely match that percentage with COVID. It seems quite possible for much of the rest of Australia to approach that percentage. Therefore, I argue that the introduction of Novovax will not see rates at 100% or close to it. There is a core anti-vaxer element - a small but nevertheless significant minority - that will make any excuse to avoid vaccination - measles, COVID or otherwise.

I agree that their are a small % of people who are truly anti - vax but most people not wanting the covid jab would have had all their other vaccinations .

People just don't like to put an experimental drug into their systems for a disease that mostly only effect the elderly, smokers and obese .

Also parents aren't forced to choose between vaccination of their children and keeping their jobs .

Why do you call it experimental?
1. Because these types of mrna drugs have never passed the FDA standards before the emergency use

2 the long term side effects of these vaccine are <unknown>

3 Pfizer did a deal with Israel that they would get first use if they gave them all the data collected turning their country into an experiment.

4 under emergency use pharmaceutical companies were immune to any liabilities from their product.

Nonetheless, they passed.

No vaccine in history has had side effects that emerge later. Long term effects of Covid 19, however, are unknown.

Err, no. Getting hard data doesn't make it an experiment. What?

Pfizer is fully approved in the US. Has been for a while now.

No, but they would have to choose between vaccination of their children, and getting them educated. Whoa, mandates!

Although your average anti-vaxxer wouldn't give a rat's arse about their child's education, so it's probably not much of a stick.

Probably start home schooling them so they can pass on all their "knowledge"

Gee you're out of touch with the younger generation aren't you

You wonder how many teams from QLD, SA and WA could be waiting for Novavax (yet to be TGA approved in Australia but close, 3 weeks between doses and little/no side effects)? First dose is required by 21 January 2022, with 18 February the double dose deadline...

Would fit the bill for a number of the above given the wording used:

- Brisbane
- Fremantle
- Gold Coast, + Levi Casboult
- Port Adelaide
- West Coast (our remaining minority/3 players)

The timelines for clubs in other states are a bit different (https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/af...s/news-story/cae5e3d6b9b71f4fcf9d0c3f6b704b5f).
I'm also worried about Essendon.

Sure, they may say their players are fully vaxxed, but with their history of record keeping around injections who will ever know...

Since you aren't getting it
below - in a lower position (than), under
bellow - to shout in a loud voice, or (of a cow or large animal) to make a loud, deep sound

So as Badge pointed out, just amusing in a statement saying people have an IQ below 100, you have a simple word you don't know how to spell
It is the calling card of all the anti-vax and conspiracy nuffs.

Compose a social media diatribe quoting dubious sources that’s just short of an essay in an attempt to come across as intellectually superior and give credence to their “research”.

Yet you can guarantee they’ll be the same posters that use “there” interchangeably for there, their and they’re or call people “loosers”…
