Contracted to Sturt next year. I think he wants to stay in SA for a bit, possibly had a baby a while agoCampo should go to defence, pods forward, and new blood in midfield.
What's mattner doing?
Good .I posted in another thread that I'd heard Matty Bode was on the way out. Heading to Carlton. Doesn't see eye to eye with Burton.
That's it. My one inside hot gossip rumour ever. Credibility will live or die on the outcome.
Every Sanfl coach has an AFL out clause.Contracted to Sturt next year. I think he wants to stay in SA for a bit, possibly had a baby a while ago

Was mentioned before that there may be clauses in the reserves set up for both AFL clubs not to be able to poach contracted SANFL coaches, I'm not sure if this is correct. I'd be surprised if Mattner went to be an AFL Reserves coach after being in charge of his own team, straight into an assistant role would be more likely.Every Sanfl coach has an AFL out clause.
Would love to try and get mattner back to the club
I would think Martys ego and talent would mean he would demand a Line Coach role rather than ''work his way in''Was mentioned before that there may be clauses in the reserves set up for both AFL clubs not to be able to poach contracted SANFL coaches, I'm not sure if this is correct. I'd be wrapt if he stayed at Sturt for one more year.

Agree. I'd think he'd follow a similar path to BassettI would think Martys ego and talent would mean he would demand a Line Coach role rather than ''work his way in''
Thats my take on it
Michael Wilson?I absolutely loved Josh Francou as a player. Only behind Roger James and Shaun Burgoyne as my favourite Power player of all time. Is he at Sydney now?
Read on!Michael Wilson?
Campo is not going anywhere. I can't believe that there are sections of the supporter base still potting this bloke. Just take a look at our midfield transformation and development of players since Dangerfield left. It has been remarkable and Campo is in no small part responsible for that.Surely Campo wouldn't be going anywhere? SA business and for all the shit we give him, our midfield is firing.
IN Campos first number of years at the club, the midfielders profile we had a as a club were inside, contested ball winning midfielders with no outside pace or break away ability. He worked with what he was given and did the best he could with the players at his disposal.Due to his influence or in spite of it? There's plenty of functioning systems that have to work a bit harder due to a less than competent person in a position of influence. Has our midfield improvement this year been courtesy of Campo blossoming after his first 8 years in the role or could it be partially the result of influence from above.
I'm sure Campo has some good qualities, but it's hard, given our history, to genuinely consider that he's been instrumental in our improved fortunes in there. Nothing had changed previously, I doubt he's led anything other than the case for changing nothing.
He's been around a while and we really were shit in the middle.Campo is not going anywhere. I can't believe that there are sections of the supporter base still potting this bloke. Thought he was like Bickley and didn't want to leave SA cause of his kids?Mentioned on 5aa that Thommo might be off to Fremantle. Would be a good move to head over and work under Lyon.

Now we're not. So I'm torn as to whether he's good or not. I don't know.

He's got a development coach role with us like VB lined up, but Kane reckons he's a chance for the Westies job.I missed them talking too much about it, but one of the people on their suggested they had a bit of a scoop on a Crow's player heading elsewhere. I thought they were talking about a current player but am sure they said Thommo to go as an assistant coach. Perhaps if we offered him something it may not have been a substantial enough role. If he has designs on senior coaching or midfield coaching, leaving us is the best way to go about that.
I'd be happy with that. Francou was a gun. Very smart player.Francou in Teague out is the word
+1 couldn't stand him as a player, always carved us up but would make a excellent coach for usI'd be happy with that. Francou was a gun. Very smart player.
