I think this is overblown. England have been utter tripe
Yet in all three tests up to a point they've had the upper hand. These guys have been up for delivering when it comes to that inflection point in the match and it's all flowed from there.

Have they? I would argue they haven't. Honestly McGrath could have made a century on that track. Add to that the failure of Shaun outside one innings and Cummins barely troubling the batsmen, picking up consolation wickets.Yet in all three tests up to a point they've had the upper hand. Shaun Marsh “a failure outside of one innings”. I don’t think so. 51 at a vital time in Brisbane. 126 and 19 in Adelaide, and 28 in Perth is a meritorious performance by almost anyone’s definition. Not by yours it seems.Have they? I would argue they haven't. Honestly McGrath could have made a century on that track. Was underdone when called on to replace Starc for last 2 tests in India. Yet he still managed 8 wickets at 30 on graveyard pitches for fast bowlers over there. That’s not ordinary. Nor is 25 wickets at 25.64 in your first 7 tests, on largely unfriendly pitches for pace bowling.Cummins doesn't know how to bowl outside of T20 and that's why his first class and test record is ordinary outside 1 game.
Also picked above Hilton Cartwright and Marcus Stoinis. And rightly so, given their form in Shield cricket.Maxwell did not miss out at the expense of Mitch Marsh. People really need to get this through their heads.
Marsh got selected because they wanted a fourth paceman, and it was pretty much him or Henriques (who is in disgusting form).

Averaging 40 with the ball across 22 tests is 5th bowler standard? Maybe if he starts averaging 40+ with the bat it is. He was also only brought in over maxwell because his bowling would be required over maxwells off spin so using the excuse he has only just started bowling again doesn't fly.Are people forgetting Marsh has only recently gotten back to bowling? He's not going to get it right immediately and he's already shown himself to be a Test standard fifth bowler in the past. Of all the things to whinge about.
Selective statistics to suit your agenda, he has 25 wickets @ 30 since his return to the national side and if you look through all 3 series he has been consistently at that rate in each of them. Was underdone when called on to replace Starc for last 2 tests in India. 5th highest batting average so far during the ashes and 5th most wickets, are you really suggesting we shouldn't be playing Cummins?Selective statistics to suit your agenda, he has 25 wickets @ 30 since his return to the national side and if you look through all 3 series he has been consistently at that rate in each of them.
They aren't bad stats, but they aren't any better then a siddle/bird and they certainly shouldn't be keeping out a fit pattinson or even giving behrendorff a go.

Yeah if Patto or Dorf were fit I'd 100% be playing them ahead of Cummins, he is our 5th or so best bowler.5th highest batting average so far during the ashes and 5th most wickets, are you really suggesting we shouldn't be playing Cummins?
No. A post designed to point out truth. I couldn't give a * if you got your knickers in a knot.A shitpost designed to stir, but nonetheless:
Brisbane - Australia 4-70 chasing 302 before Smith and Marsh regain control and eventually dominate
Adelaide - England behind the majority of the game, arguably got back to quite close to parity in their fourth innings chase though being 3-169 after knocking us over in the third for stuff all.
Perth - 4-368. Hard to argue they weren't a position of command at that point. Even after breaking through Warner & Bancroft with 50 odd on the board would have still said they were in front in the game.
Marsh was crucial in getting the innings back on track in Brisbane, outstanding in Adelaide and instrumental in regaining control with a disciplined knock in Perth.
To not value Cummins contribution to Australia's position in the series is downright ignorance as well.

Yep, see what happens when we play away.So time to fess up,
Yep, see what happens when we play away.
Paine>>>>>Nevill, Wade.
Have to admit I was very skeptical, but he has been very solid behind the stumps and more than done his job with the bat.
