With my final pick of the draft, the Spotted Dick Picks select:

Pick #521: Tim Taranto (GWS Giants)

'This bloke is apparently tearing up the track in Pre-season at GWS, with a lot of so called experts saying he is likely to spend some time in the Midfield as early as 2017. I rated Hugh McCluggage really high in the 2016 national draft as a long term prospect, so when GWS selected this guy instead I thought Christ, this kid must be special (and ready to go) with them having a tilt at the flag in 2017'

Thought about him (love him so much as a prospect, hate that he's at GWS), but I reckon the second year player in Kennedy will get more games.

He wasn't the one I was really tempted to take though

Yeah not sure about Kennedy.. looks a little Vanilla for mine,.. prime candidate to end up at Carlton next year :) With Hopper and their new recruits (as well as an already great midfield) I think he will struggle... but that's just MY Speculation :)

David Noble's Noble Davids select

Pick 522: Jonathon Griffin (Fremantle)

Here's what David Noble had to say:

"Griffin is unlikely to get games at Fremantle, let's be honest. But just in case he does, we'll be right there to make use of his services. He sures up our ruck division with Lycett likely to miss a few games. But he's not that good so he'll remain an emergency. Welcome to the black and orange with our final pick, Jono"

Very happy with the finished line-up. Huge starting midfield of Hickey, Sloane, Neale, Scully and Guthrie, with Rosa, DeGoey, Greenwood and Pearce rotating through. Solid forward and defensive groups with some stars in Rioli, Burgoyne and Pittard scattered through. Great coverage off the bench and emergencies and lots of players sure to play every game when fit.

Highlights:
  • Solid midfield headed by Rockliff, Lewis, Gray, Caddy and Brayshaw, plus young superstar McCluggage on the bench
  • Lots of run and carry with Hill, Tuohy, Houli and Lloyd
  • Great selection of tall players with Taylor and Hombsch in defence (supported by Plowman) and Riewoldt and Dixon up front (supported by McStay)
  • Forwards assisted by LeCras as the primary small target, plus support from developing players in Crozier and Burton.
  • Louge and Bowes as untried high draft pick players on the emergency list, both set to get a lot of games in 2017. Logue sures up support in defence; Bowes in the midfield. Griffin provides ruck support for Lycett who may miss a chunk of 2017.
