Just pondering the champion/big name players who have came to Collingwood late in their careers and had very little impact.

Sam Kekovich
Dermott Brereton
Brad Hardie
Graeme Teasedale
Ronnie Andrews
John Williams
Peter Bradbury (not a champion but a premiership player)
Georgie Bisset

Can anyone think of others?

not a big name but late in career trade. Jarrod Molloy. That trade for Mal Michael probably cost us the 2002 flag

Meanwhile Carlton brought in superstars in their prime. Mainly SA and WA talent.
We were so poorly run for a long period.

Every team did it to some extent.
Fitzroy Sydney and Brisbane were full of these types in the late 80s and early 90s.
Some rippers:
Fitzroy Peter Sartori and Jeff Hogg
Sydney David Cordner and Adrian Battiston
Brisbane Warrick Capper and Jim Edmond

Luke Ball
Darren Jolly

Maybe Leigh Brown. (Probably not a star though).

Fail. All of those had a significant impact.

Ridiculous on Wakelin. He was very good for us and played > 150 games in black and white.

Whoops sorry, missed the very little to no impact part. Removed now.
No impact should be removed. Replaced with successful and unsuccessful trades.
Gives us way more players to choose.
IMO is better. We have already run out of no impact players.

Although I think incoming big name players limits us as well.
Not that many 🤣
