Those Melbourne clubs you speak of can't blow an obscene amount of money on the player you have - hence the initial complaint that the COLA needs to be removed and the AFL should never have allowed this horrendously poor decision to have been made.
If the AFL scrapped GWS, GC and Sydney tomorrow, and Brisbane for good measure and the TV rights were adjusted accordingly the VFL would probably come out cash positive.
....West Coast, Fremantle, Adelaide & Port Adelaide...Edited for future accuracy!

South could move back south to Tassie
Tassie has a premiership side though already
Then getting paid up members & TV market share should probably come naturally down there.Tassie has a premiership side though already
Rather be the Tazzie Hawks than the AFL Swans.Tassie has a premiership side though already

Oh FMD....
If I made the industry equivalent of the ass-hat decision to recruit Franklin at the expense they have - I'd be gone. Simple.
The reason the last tv deal was so good was due to the fact that advertisers now have a game every weekend in all major markets being Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and SE QLD. That is the reason tas missed out. Not enough viewers for the advertisers and TV and Foxtel. If Sydney or qld were to fail the TV rights deal would fall and so would the revenue to the traditional state clubs down south. That is the business case that built the last tv deal and the reason the expansion clubs were brought in. It is all part of the master plan of the commission. If the AFL scrapped GWS, GC and Sydney tomorrow, and Brisbane for good measure and the TV rights were adjusted accordingly the AFL would probably come out cash positive.
Plus even without COLA your team can win more then two flags in 70 years
Making categorical statements based on assumptions and guesses is a sure fire way to lose your job.
Fact, you have NFI what Franklin's contract does or does not include.
Fact, you have NFI about what the Swans administration plan to do with list management.
Fact, despite not being in command of the FACTS you still claim to know better than the Swans administration.
It doesn't matter if you are the CEO of BHP, you are just guessing and judging by your reasoning it is not even an educated guess.

Get to work dude (assuming you have a job) and help us pay the Mighty Hawks the 300,000 bonus for winning the Flag.Tassie has a premiership side though already

Says he who's club has won one and one only in its miserable failure filled history. It was 72 years to be exact btw, but it's been 48 years now for you so I wouldn't mind betting you will surpass 72 years with a leg in the air to be honest. After all, with your future looking as rosy as it, another 24 years is a mere formality don't you think ? Keep blowing wind up the Hawks **** as it is about as close as you will get to a premiership.
Tassie has a premiership side though already
I wonder if signing Buddy is really a good list management decision.
They have lost Mumford, their first ruck.
White, Everitt & the retired Bolton will all go from their PF side.
When you view the net losses and gains, their depth is gone and they don't have the salary cap space to recruit a first ruck.

Biggs played the last game against the Hawks & two finals. These are the Swans players outside of their best 22:
Membrey (0 games)
Cunningham (6 games)
Lamb (12 games)
Armstrong (29 games)
Towers (0 games)
Lockyer (0 games)
Robinson (0 games)
Marsh (0 games)
Jack (9 games)
Naismith (0 games)
Richards (1 game)
Biggs (0 games)
Those players in bold will be good players in the future. But overall they have no depth and no experience at all outside of the Swans best 22 going into 2014.
The Swans best 22 is actually very good, their depth however... hmm not so good.
John Alexson, Ram Seid, Neville Jetta, Adam Goodes, Thomas Lewis Robertson.
