Conca needs to go .... particularly to learn some discipline.
A much overrated player on the Richmond board!

I'd agree and disagree with this. Conca can find the ball and can play but he is too small at the moment to actually stand up in a contest and win his own ball. I wish we had more players available so we could just stop selecting him for the rest of the season and just stick him in the gym. Needs 10+ kilo. Start a big bulk now, put on a shit load of size and trim down at the end of the next pre season. Just doesnt have an impact as he is.

I have an issue with playing Morris and Dea in the same side. Dea lacks a lot of confidence in his kicking. He will continually go for the 15 metre option sideways. I don't think it fits in with our game plan. I don't dispute the kid's courage, but I do worry we have two hard at it stoppers who don't kick very well in our back half.
I just don't think there's room for both of them and clearly if it's a choice between the two, Morris wins every time at the moment.
Not a criticism of the kid, just an observation from the past couple of weeks.
We need some serious run against an enthusiastic bunch of kids, who will likely tire towards to the end of the game this week.

The other option Tugg would be to continue Morris' development at AFL level and play him thru the midfield . Afterall it's not as though we have an exxagerated amount of midfielders who have a good attack upon the footy . FWIW I thought Morris should have replaced Foley within our midfield against Freo .

Let him stay where he is comfortable I reckon.
He's the type of player where things can never get too complicated. He is a no frills player who needs to keep doing no frills jobs.
As soon as you start trying to turn him into something he's not, it could **** everything up for him for good.

Was recruited as a midfielder/ defender Tugg , not as though he hasn't played there , just not at AFL level . It does appear to be the clubs thinking of having him solely as a defender, although I don't agree with it . I also thought he has looked most comfortable when Cyril took him further up the ground .

Rance had the same problem with his disposal though, we stuck with him and now we have one of the best young key defenders in the game. Dea is just too inexperienced at AFL level, I'd rather get the experience into him in 2012 than in 2013 when we will really need him to be firing.

Out - Vickery
In - Graham

If Jack is injured, then Miller fills the FF position. Ellis might be due for a rest. If that's the case, White comes in. No need to hit the panic button, but we really need the best side possible to secure a win before the bye. I don't think Foley will be ready.

I would like to see Griffiths play forward.

Assuming Riewoldt is out injured, and Foley is not fit to return.

Then:

In: Elton, King.
Out: A Maric, J Riewoldt,

With O'Hanlon to remain as sub.

Was tempted to drop Batchelor (and if Grimes was available would've done) but no obvious replacement to come in.

Wouldn't rest any players Vs. GWS as we have the Bye the following week. More importantly you have to ensure you beat them like all the other teams around the mark have and you have to try and gain some % as it will be crucial come finals time with the even competition!!

I.Maric plays unless he is genuinely injured. If Riewoldt is out then L.McGuane seems to be our most in form forward in the 2s. Crazy I know but it is what it is.

Yeh if you want to lose the game then yeh good ins and outs

Morris is fine and same with Cochin

Well chairman of selectors, when i made the post it was based on a worst case scenario. If players are fit ie: Cotchin and Morris, then they obviously play, and i made a blue on Connors (i forgot about King). So don't be such a person who has intimate relations with either hand.

Jacko's decline is always more apparent after a loss when we're prompted to search for answers. Id love to see whitey take his spot, at least he has pace and is far quicker of mind. Whitey isnt a long term answe as he has his own faults but sheesh he is a far better option than what jackson can contribute

Out: Riewoldt (even if close to fit, needs to recover fully), Vickery (needs to wake the fook up and stop acting like a child).

In: King, Foley (If 100% fit)

Play Griffiths FF. Mini Maric one more game and O'Hanlon sub.

I don't understand why people would want to drop those who need to find form
Putting them up against such a young team gives them much more chance to play better and get some confidence back into their game.

The old Bangldesh theory Inf. You get a test batsman horribly out of form and looks like he is not up to it. Then he gets a two-test series against Bangladesh, makes some runs against a side that would get beaten by every single Shield side and suddenly things are rosey again until he goes back to playing the good sides again and he is found wanting again.

I certainly agree, but that in itself helps you weed out those you know need to be moved on, however confidence is such a critical component of a players form. Even if it gets 1-2 players on an upwards trend it could make a difference for the rest of their season. For example having Vickery as our focal point up forward with someone like Griffiths at CHF on a younger defenders is a more fair matchup than putting them up against a player like Scarlett, Glass or Johnson from Freo who are much older and experienced bodies. You are matching them up with similarly aged and experienced players which can help you measure them at their current level of development rather than expecting them to be batting above their weight division week in week out.

Just look at the criticism of Vickery who is still a baby at AFL level for his height. The criticism laid out on him is unwarranted in my opinion and giving him a go against more suitable opponents really will show you where he's at right now.

Play our best 22 and show no mercy, just as the saints did against the suns.

Ellis is finding plenty of the ball, but butchering it badly... could use start as the sub or have rest

IN: King, (Foley if fit), (Miller for JR8)
OUT: Dea, (A Maric for foley), (Riewoldt if unfit)

The confidnece comment is an interesting one , We just need to win this game and win it well going forward for the rest of the year .

We can get too cute at times worrying about permutations and the "future" etc.

Its why i would not care if the opening round blockbuster v the Blues got scrapped . Knocks the young blokes back on thier heals every year .

Winning games is the only tonic our side needs right now so hence , pick the best available side to win this game this week , nothing more nothing less

We all know White is limited , but this time last year Tuck wasnt getting a game either and he has been able to turn things around , who is to say White cant ? More important to win the game at hand for the confidence of the side than to go through munutia of whether White should get a run or not .

Can anyone see this is groundhog day ? ;)o_O

i have huge concerns about him and it is in areas ofmhis game that cannot be improved or coached. He is timid and shies away from a contest.
I don't think my criticsim is unwarranted. Others might, but I have seen enough to know what i know.
