This is tough!

OUT: Griff (inj), Nahas (omit)
IN: Cousins, Tambling, McGuane, Post

I think Nason will be OK based on the during the match fitness tests.

Griff out, Gourdis/Post in.
Nahas out, Morton in.

We'll need an extra big bloke for North who have Goldstein, Petrie, McIntosh, Hale and Hansen - all goal-kicking talls. With Gourdis/Post in for Griff and Morton - a marking small - in for Nahas, it gives us the options to counteract there tall prowess.

Out Griff - in Mcguane at CHF
Out King - in Cousins

leave Nahas for another week as he will improve. Although I think he is trade bait

out Gus - in Brown

got to find a way to get Contin in there soon

OUT:

King (Rubbish)
Jackson (Suspended)
Griffiths (injured)
Nahas (Rubbish)

IN:

Morton
Cousins
Gourdis
Hicks

May seem like a lot of changes for a winning side but 2 will be forced (Jackson, Griffiths). Nahas was ordinary, didn't get the right spots to crumb, didn't keep his feet in contests which for a small like him is valuable. I don't see a future for him and if Hicks continues his form in the VFL I'd give him a run. Cousins will probably come back after illness and Gourdis could come in as DH has stated he wants to get games into him and Post and them maybe move Astbury up forward. If Morton is in the best again at Coburg like last week he can come in for King who was a liablity tonight.

On triple M they were saying Nason was having problems with his eye sight so he might be given a rest this week.

Probably agree most with Barnzy's post.

Nason could see using peripheral vision but couldn't see anything when looking straight ahead, add to that he had already been knocked out and well I would be surprised to see him get a rest.

King did make some mistakes(so did everyone else) but he also made up for it late in the game with some smart footy. On that basis I think you'll have to put up with him for at least 1 more week, especially if Jackson gets rubbed out.

a) When do Coburg play, if already, who were the bests?
b) Should we rush Cousins back in when it's looking likely he won't be there next year? Just throwing it out there.

c) Was King on Ballantyne tonight? I saw a number of times that he was, but that may have only been coincidental. If he was Ballantyne's opponent tonight, he was outstanding!

Agree with all of this. I am starting to worry about myself.

Play tomorrow at Coburg, Cousins will come back in next week, only way he wouldn't is if Barrett claim that the decision has already been made to let him go and we want to focus on kids. I'd much rather believe Hardwick when he says that Ben will be given every chance to prove himself.

Started on Ballantyne and although he got pinged for a stupid free kick I thought he did a reasonable job while on him. Like I said to Barnzy, King will be around for another week.

We get r*ped by small forwards and Ballantyne is as dangerous as any! If King played on him for the majority of the night, he'd be pushing to be in the bests.

King started on Hill not Ballantyne and then after he was getting slaughtered and Hill was dominating us he got moved off him. He was played as a midfielder who roamed forward and after Hill it seemed like he moved on Pearce and others who he just rotated onto at stoppages. Ballaytne played up forward and was minded at times by Farmer, Moore and others. They had a couple of incidents where they met in the middle but they played at opposition ends of the ground so thus he can't take any credit for shutting him down.

King giving away a free in the middle by whacking Ballantyne while Connors was lining up for goal nearly cost us the match. Was very undisciplined tonight and he got little of the ball, when did (besides one high kick to the top of the square that set up a goal with Riewoldt taking a massive pack mark) he made poor decisions and butchered it. Has to be dropped. Was easily the worst player in our team if you exclude the injuries to the 2 kids and people who defend him are probably just doing it because the win glossed over his performance.

Keep King in...

perfect match up for Boomer....

No he aint, Harvey is a bit out of King's league but he will probably get first crack.

I would think Cousins will definitely come in and Morton should also depending on tomorrow. Will wait and see what happens tomorrow.

Nahas was Rubbish tonight good call barnzy

I stand corrected.

Did you actually see King give him a whack or are you going off the umpire giving the free kick? As for making poor decisions he was the bloke sitting out on the outer HFF when Freo were trying to clear the ball in the last quarter and kept pumping it back in. King isn't the most talented player on the list but I'd rather have him in the side at the moment over a few others more talented players who are running around at Coburg. 12 possessions 83% effective 5 clangers(3 of them were frees against) 6 contested possessions, not bad for the worst player on the ground.

Injuries: Griffiths, ?Gus, ? Nason
Suspended: Jackson
Poor Performance: Nahas

In:

Polak, Cousins, Tambling + ?Browne, ?Morton

Haven't watched the replay but I though Nahas was ok? Liked his defensive pressure when the ball was inside 50? Would give him another game but like everyone else I want Hicks to get a go soon.

Was it as bad as the other 100 times Ballantyne went to the ground looking for the free?

He is a ****head, same thing at Subi, remember when he went down like a sack of shit and won the free in front of goal.

Yep.

And I dunno, maybe need to watch the replay. I knew he didn't get much of the ball (why no bronx cheers for him, like some supporters give bling?) but he got dropped for his poor defensive efforts didn't he? Thought he was alright in that area.
