this game might be too physical for pitt.
i don't understand the crowley return either, unless we missed his off-the-ball work last week, which would have to be some kind of crazy ninja shit because it's not been showing up in the stats.
really happy with anthony call up. hopefully he becomes a leader with the straight kicking that brings the others up.

There are 5 Crowley's on the field you just can't see then. :D

Question: What are your thoughts when facing an opponent?
Bruce: There is no opponent.

hmm, perhaps this what crowley's problem's been. dude, THERE IS A FREAKIN' OPPONENT! GET ON HIM!

B Johnson - Grover - Broughton
HB Ibbotson - McPharlin - Duffield
C Fyfe - Lower - Hill
HF Mayne - Pavlich - Crichton
F Bradley - Anthony - Ballantyne
R Sandilands - Mundy - DeBoer
I Palmer - McPhee - JVB
S Pitt

Pavlich to the forward line - Palmer and Lower to pick up the slack in the midfield. Anthony in as FF to allow Mayne to focus on crumbing and forward pressure. Bradley in forward pocket to stretch Weevil defence for height. Crichton in at half forward to provide extra tackling pressure to make up for having both JA and Bradley in the forward line. DeBoer to keep Kerr quiet. Mundy to go head-to-head with Priddis. No point tagging him.

I don't get what Crowley has done to earn his call-up??
He got dropped his team had the bye in the WAFL so he had no chance to regain form or anything but suddenly back in he comes.....

I would suppose that the lack of defensive pressure through the midfield troubled Harvey. Otherwise, I agree with you.

One would think Palmer would get the call up if balla's is out as he's been playing forward all year. Can't see Griffin or Pitt providing any defensive pressure (not that Rhys really has been either).

If anyone is going to play themselves into form in a derby it may very well be Crowley. I think the rough stuff would lift him.

Like the Anthony inclusion.

I like Crowley coming in for this match and I am thrilled to see Anthony get his go. There is a lot to like about the inclusions. Unfortunately those that have been excluded have not done enough recently.

Palmer and Roberton will do well to make the most from this break in the WAFL.

I hope Rhys comes in for Ballantyne if he doesn't pull up. We can all criticise Palmer, but he needs to be given a fair go in the middle. If he is to ever find some form he will do so in the derby, and I know he would be putting 110% in. Don't want to see Pitt in, will probably crumble under the Eagles pressure if he is put in the backline, and not big enough yet to play in the middle.

Assuming Balla's is out it really diminishes our forward line pressure so I wouldn't be surprised to see Crowley go to Kerr, McPhee to Embley, and deBoer return to the forward line.

Warning, warning.... fantastic defensive pressure and tackling, not the best shot for accuracy...

Would love to see Crowley go to Emberly and show him the same kind of attention that the hack showed to Tarrant in the last derby. That was the last time we saw Taz in purple

I really hope Jesse can offer the same as a Palmer or Pitt could, and i don't want to sound like a Clay Davis but i'm not sure he can, was a big passenger in the Bulldogs game and it will only be hotter in the Derby. Wish him well

Crowley should be told that unless he registers at least 5 tackles, then he is never playing for Fremantle again. It is nothing short of absolutely pathetic that our supposed #1 tagger has made a grand total of 4 tackles in 5 games.

I must say I'm very surprised at Palmer out. Sure he's nowhere near what he's produced in the past but he's show some excellent signs and I would have liked to have seen him put in the midfield and given a license to run all day. Surely this isn't going to help his confidence? And Chrighton has shown next to nothing when given chances while Crowley has been in poor form.
Puzzling, at least to me.

Also suprised Palmer was dropped.
Not saying he didnt deserve it coz he has been struggling.
But hes been played out of position an when he was in his correct position last week i thought he did well except for that 1 huge mistake where he could of kicked but chose to handball behind him.
Would of liked to see him given 1 last go an played in his proper position for most of game.
Also he seemed pumped for the derby, he was in a few interviews an was really looking forward to it.

Now hopefully he doesnt sulk and doubt himself even more.
I hope he goes back to WAFL an dominates getting 30+ every week away from the pressure an earns his spot back in the team.

It depends on his numbers. 30 possesions and a couple of goals playing 90% of a game for the Sharks will probably give him more confidence than having 3 kicks and 8 handballs with 60% game time for Fremantle.
