Round 2 get him in before Derby. Get him a game under his belt before he goes toe to toe, mano a mano with Fyfe.

Stop bleeding the media, ya fools.
Darling had a foot injury and just busted a tenner..

also, welcome.

Reddit posters are a different breed. IMO it was always going to incur a suspension, there’s no way he was going for the mark. The outrage that we would appeal it is hilarious though, particularly the comments from the Freo fan at the end lel

I heard about Bigfooty from r/AFL, some Reddit epic le bacon dork was talking about Bigfooty being a mean cesspool.

Naturally, that peaked my curiosity and I never went back. And they were right!

Take two

In: Ryan, Darling, Kelly, Shuey, Witherden
Out: Rioli (shafted), Dixon, O’Neill, Hedwards, Hough

Backs: Barrass, Gov, Rotham, Hurn, Witherden, Foley, Nelson
Mids: Kelly, Redden, Gaff, Naish, SPS, Shuey
Rucks: NicNat, Williams
Forwards: Kennedy, Darling, Waterman, Ryan, Jones, Petch, Langdon
Sub: Hough
Emergencies: O’Neill (traveling), Edwards, Dixon

Good debut by Hough but let’s give him a light week and a trip to Melbourne and make him either the sub or the traveling emergency. Straight swap for Witherden.

Nelson replaces Edwards in the backline to make us shorter, Gaff moves out to the wing with Kelly coming back in.

Shuey, Jones and SPS to split two of the mid spots. Shuey replaces O’Neill and can play his 60 per cent game time.

Darling and Ryan straight swap for Dixon and Rioli. I’m pretty pessimistic about Rioli getting off. Langdon would come out if the unthinkable happens and the tribunal decides to #freewillie.

All the guys that were dropped are unlucky. Probably the one player that actually deserved to be dropped would be Williams, but I think we need two genuine rucks against the Goldstein/Xerri/CCJ combo.

Duggan can have a run in the WAFL scratchie if he’s fit. Five changes is probably enough for now.

So you'd assume Ryan, Kelly, Shuey and Darling will come straight in, with Witherden available and Duggan fit as well according to latest SJOGHIU.
Hope they don't pick all 6 tbh as that might be too far the other way.

Who am I kidding, it's only Norf & with their own land of the giants going on, we might actually be able to compete for longer than against the Gold campaigners.

FB: Rotham Barrass Hurn
HB: Foley McGovern Nelson
C: Gaff Kelly Naish
HF: Jones Darling SPS
FF: Ryan JK Rioli
R: NN Shuey Redden
I: Petch Edwards Witherden Duggan
E: Hough (sub) XON Williams Langdon

Darling/Dixon straight swap, same for Ryan/Langdon and Shuey/XON.
Duggan replaces Nelson as a mid rotation, comes in for Hough.
Kelly comes in for Waterman (unlucky) to rotate mid/fwd with SPS & Shuey.
I like what Naish offers so I want to see him given more games.
Edwards provides much more at this stage than Bailey so we can fudge the 2nd ruck with him, Gov & Darling.

Ryan for Langdon
Darling for Williams
Kelly for Waterman
Shuey for XON
Witherden for Rotham

Backs: Barrass, Gov, Hurn, Witherden, Foley, Nelson, Hough
Inside Mids: Kelly, Redden, SPS, Shuey
Outside Mids: Gaff, Naish
Rucks: NicNat, HEdwards
Forwards: Kennedy, Darling, Ryan, Jones, Petch, Ryan, Dixon
Sub: from Rotham, Waterman, XON

Dixon/HEdwards to play the second ruck role with other time in defence or forward.

We have a strong group of mids who can actually play forwards in SPS, Jones, Kelly and Shuey
Rioli not a mid but provides great creativity at centre bounces

I doubt whether we take this team into R2. Explains why I have not been invited to MC

FB: Rotham Barrass Hurn
HB: Foley McGovern Nelson

I: Edwards Witherden Duggan
This makes our backline look extremely slow. Nelson is the only one who shows any speed.

You've got 3 defenders on the bench and understand HEdwards is the second ruck but feels to HBF heavy. I suggest if Duggan is in then he is at the expense of one of the defenders.

#freewillie was a success so I can finally have a crack at the team changes

In: Ryan, Kelly, Shuey, Darling, Witherden
Out: O'Neill, Langdon, Dixon, Hough, Rotham

Need a genuine second ruck for Norf so although Williams has been pretty spudly, he will be required this week. Otherwise I'd keep Dixon in instead.

Barrass/Edwards/McGovern plus Hurn and Rotham leaves us too tall down back. Hurn was poorer than Rotham but he won't get dropped so Rotham makes way for Witherden whose kicking skills that make him a point of difference.

Hurn Barrass McGovern
Witherden Edwards Foley
Gaff Kelly Naish
Petruccelle Darling Rioli
Ryan Kennedy Waterman

Naitanui, Shuey, Redden

Nelson, SPS, Jones, Williams

Sub: Hough

Anyone know why Kelly apparently wasn't involved in main training today? Or know if Jones was?

Ryan for Dixon
Darling for Williams
Shuey for XON
Witherden for Rotham
Duggan for Hough

Backs: Barrass, Gov, Hurn, Witherden, Foley, Duggan, HEdwards
Ruck/Mids: NicNat, Redden, Rioli, Shuey, Gaff, Nelson, SPS, Naish
Forwards: JK, Darling, Ryan, Petch, Jones, Langdon, Waterman
Sub: XON

Kelly for Xon
Darling for Dixon
Ryan for Naish
Shuey for Hough
Witherden for Nelson
Duggan for Foley
Give Williams another go as 2nd ruck otherwise drop him and have Dixon play 2nd ruck. Rest are all upgrades. Naish was good but too many turnovers. Dixon is an obvious one. Thought Hough was good but Shuey is better. Foley was a difficult choice as he got a lot of ball but more turnovers than Nelson.

Edwards was not close to be being b22 last season and he isn't coming back like that after missing all preseason. I also think Duggan could do with a wafl praccy game or two as he himself has missed the preseason

I'll go with

In: Darling, Ryan, Kelly, Witherden, Shuey
Out: JK, Langdon, Naish, Hough, Nelson

Duggan to play a practice match first befire coming in.

I would actually like to drop Hurn for Witherden but it wouldn't happen. Naish, Hough and Nelson all unlucky.

In: Darling, Ryan, Kelly, Witherden, Shuey
Out: JK, Langdon, XON, HEdwards, Dixon

Darling to FF, Waterman to HF.

Shame to drop Langdon (loved his grunt against suns, but just lacks the class) and Dixon, but someone needs to make room.

Didnt want to drop Hough either as I feel like he needs a few games at senior level. He has a history of quickly adapting to, and then excelling at, the level he's put into so keen to accelerate his development in that regard.

Will Gaff be on the chopping block this season? With Yeo, Shuey, Kelly, Rioli, JJ, SPS, Naish, and potentially Sheed as more attacking players, Gaff just seems to represent alot of what has been wrong with WCE the last couple of seasons (similar to Priddis in 2017) with low disposal efficiency, lack of tackling/contested, lack of pace etc.

Gaff needs to play in his proper position - outside mid on the wing. The last 2 years we have played him at centre clearances and as an extractor. Let’s face facts - he is a crap extractor.

I am also beginning to accept it will be hard to have Sheed and Gaff in the same side

Yes I'd like to see him played exclusively on the wing and keeping his width from contests.

Im starting to think though that we may uncover an option this season for a different player than Gaff on the wing that has all the tools he lacks, I just don't believe endurance cuts it anymore, as all players are now super fit. We need pace, swerveability, tackling too.

With our newer recruits West, JJ, SPS, Clark, Naish, and Joyce we suddenly have great midfield depth and they all look ready to make an impact at AFL level to me.
