Given he had a finger injury, will Switta be able to tackle if he's back this week? I can just see a whole heap of missed tackles if he's rushed back...

There's no reason we can't play Darcy, Meek, Lobb, Taberner and Treacy all in one team. Darcy and Meek can share the ruck load, Lobb never has to leave the forward line. 3 talls would seriously improve our structure.
None. Lobb isnt a ruckman’s a-hole. He’s a scaredy cat playing that role. Meek and Darcy just rotate onto the bench. We have missed Darcy cameos in the forward line dearly. Vs Hawthorn Tabs was free and found Darcy one on ones. Lobb just isn’t the same.

Seems my opinion is an unpopular one on here, I just reckon by allowing three talls with Darcy and Meek rotating in the ruck with Darcy having stints up forward it'll not only help the structure but allow us to develop Darcy and Meek at the same time, allow them to build chemistry together.

Bombers have been playing their athletic 200cm teenage recruit Nik Cox on the wing, maybe we try Lobb in this position to run with him, thereby giving us an outlet mark out of defence, also providing another option to float forward for a mark opposed against a rookie non-defender. We'd need to drop Acres (maybe to the sub role) while bringing Treacy in for Freddy to keep the height in the forward line. This could allow us to fit Lobb, Treacy, Tabbs and Darcy all in the team.

Don't mind this. I've been saying for ages that I reckon his role really should be getting on his bike and roaming up and down the ground as a marking target anyway. He may have been a bit hampered by hi knee maybe but surely that should be coming good by now.

Lobb as a winger fills me with dread. There is a massive difference between taking marks in a pack on the wing and actually playing wing.

Any half decent winger is going to get monstered in a marking contest but will batter him in every other aspect. Doesn't have the agility, ground ball game or pressure to be effective. Even if you saw him and his opponent down the line, you'd just kick it to grass so you didn't have to worry about the mark and Lobb at best is getting a stoppage in that contest.

Cox moves like a midfielder, Lobb does not.

How many years did freo give Lobb?

I want Treacy in too but I think he needs the rest this week, he was cooked half way through the third at Peel.

People who watched can confirm this

He finished on strong after the 3/4 time break - just a couple of moments in the 3rd quarter where I thought it looked like he might be tiring.

He gave away a goal from a free kick inside defensive 50m when he continued tackling a Perth player who had already handballed the ball - and a couple of Perth players (Rogers mostly) tried to get into his face about it. There was another moment towards the end of the 3rd quarter where he out on his own between half forward and centre and Valente gave him perfect delivery inboard waist high but when he put his hands out he didn't hold it - I don't know, maybe it hit the wrong part of his hands. He did the hard running to get on his own but dropped a sitter.

In saying that he seem to cover a lot of oval and probably saved a couple of goals in the 3rd. One he was back on Peel's defensive goalline preventing a mark and knocking it over for a point and another one where Ewing was taken under the ball by his opponent about 25m close to boundary and Treacy ran across as third man up to prevent the Perth player marking.

If he translates the amount of ground he covered on a big oval in Saturday's WAFL into the role as 3rd forward and the repeat efforts required as a ruckman he'll be worth his weight in cryptocurrency. In the first quarter he showed how sharp his reflexes are when he trapped a loose ball on the wing and in the time you could click your fingers picked it off the ground and rocketed a handball inboard.

Agree. Just throw Lobb and Tabs as main forwards, allowing Treacy to build. Lobb, Tabs and Hogan together kicked 100+ points. The last two weeks just not worked with Schulz and Crowden. The smalls have done nothing. Time to go opposite and just blood Treacy with Henry

Darcy is looking like he will turn into a top 5 AFL ruck, personally I don't see any need for Meek to be playing and taking away that development. Meek can play if Darcy needs a rest or they want to give Darcy an in-game rest, other than that...well Meek will be one of many depth rucks in the AFL.

I would give Lachie Schulz one last game until we drop him in the ressies. Thats just my opinion. He has been goal less for 2 weeks and before that he kicked 10 goals from 5 games.

Agree with ya. Can only afford to carry so many passengers and I think Switta may offer a bit more than him.

The more I think about it the more keeping Treacy in the team makes sense. Literally the most important player we need to develop this year due to our forward needs. Imagine how better our team will be if he can find his form and start to get 1-2 goals a game. That would be massive for us.
