I love the irrational confidence. "I'll allow us to win two games".
I don't think we would beat more than two or three of the SANFL teams right now.

not really sarcasm ... more extracting urine.

That last sentence is absolute crap mate and you know it. Any AFL side would wipe the floor clean with the lower levels. If you think our fitness is bad, they aren’t even in the same ball park given it’s not a full time career. If we can match it with an AFL side (like we have done a few times this year), then our scoring wouldn’t be an issue in the lower leagues. Can you imagine Norwood’s ruck trying to keep up with ROB?
Probably correct, but I think it would be a fair bit closer against the top teams than we would like to admit.

Great win by essendon. 36 points down and won by 16points. If we can bring the pressure we have a chance to nab our first win.

I reckon a carton of beer would have been a better investment with that $50.
Given the timeslot and the fact I work near the ground, it made sense to go instead of rushing home to watch on TV. I’m feeling optimistic after the last game too! Hopefully Hamill comes in as he’s super exciting to watch.

We have clearly demonstrated that we are the worst team in the AFL.

Our best performance is well below the best performance of all the other 17 teams.

Our worst performance is much worse than the worst performance of any of the teams above us.

But.... if we play near to our best and Hawthorn play close to their worst then I’m telling you “We’re a Chance!!!!”.

Hawthorn scored 71 points tonight. If they do that again, we'll have to be at least 2 goals better than our best score since the restart.

... & give us something to look forward to next year as the pressure would be huge being winless.
Winless in 2020, if that happens, will be over when the Season ends. It doesn't carry forward. Why would it?
2021 will be tabula rasa --- new year, hopefully new/better assistants (no Hart/Hass/Godden, please), new/better fitness after strong pre-season and ready to improve with an imaginative game plan.

However, if they start 0-11 or up to 2-9, Nicks won't see the year out. Chapman and Roo will blame him, not themselves.

OK i am an idiot. After sleeping on it I have realised that of course SMA members get this game included for free. NO different than the away showdown. We get every game at Adelaide Oval included except finals.

You underestimate the mental side of sport...

Wow that’s depressing (to me at least). Are this draft‘a mids that ordinary, or do you have a very high opinion of Crouch?

More depressing because of how much injuries curtailed Brad.

He looked like he was destined to be a bonafide star in 2012-13.

You underestimate the mental side of sport...
I think you mean I've underestimated the mental side of a winless 2020, carrying over mentally into 2021 (?).
Maybe.
I'd like to think the players and Nicks will wipe the slate clean at the end of this year and move forward, looking ahead, not behind. Find out quickly who's not IN 100% and get rid of them.
(fwiw, I think the mental side of sport at all levels is underestimated and requires much more attention.
In 2017, I don't think anyone would dispute that the Crows played the best footy on average during the year, but from memory Richmond had won 7 on the trot and were definitely the form team going into the GF. The Crows were unsettled --- by the Sloane/Betts appendectomies, the casual approach to the last 2 minor-round games, the internal arguing re: Lever and McGovern, the Smithers injury.
Maybe more, who knows?
They played their best game of the year in the PF vs Geelong. I'm sure they relaxed mentally after that game, knowing that they'd clobbered Richmond in Round 6, but the team they beat that game was not the mob they ran into in the GF.
The GF loss was a huge blow to all, then Lever went and it was all made worse by that infernal Camp   which I believe really broke the Crows' spirits, mentally and emotionally. Richmond lost the 2018 PF, but bounced back really well and 2017-2020 have been great years for them (good chance for 2020 Flag) and that's credit to the Coach/players AND their strong Admin., especially Peggy O'Neal. The Crows should throw a pile of dough her way, or someone as good.

Side note: no way should an AFL player miss a shot for goal from anywhere up to 35-40m out on a slight angle, but they do, players from every Club. The misses from closer in are even more shocking/inexplicable except to say something is amiss between the ears ie mental.
Look at Gibbs' lethargic/disinterested efforts. Mental.
Current Senior Crows are playing like they're poorly unfit --- Hass, gotta go --- dispirited and mentally broken. Laird was upbeat in his presser, but unconvincing. If I was Brouch, I would not stay. Until last week, looked to me like Mrouch didn't want to be there, either. I'm not sure that Nicks is the right man, but deserves a chance with better assistants. It will not change seriously until Chapman/Roo/Hass/Hart/Godden are ALL gone.).
Rant over, sorry.

'Peak' Brad Crouch won a club B&F and polled 14 Brownlow votes in a team that only won 10 games that year. Ironically, that year was last year...
He didn’t make the AA squad tho, so it’s still a gloomy prospect - none of this year’s draft mids will be good enough to be AA by their mid twenties.

You obviously never saw Jaeger O'Meara or Brad Crouch play at U16's or U18's level, they were outstanding prospects hence they were both pre listed by the GCS, fortunately at the time we were able to do a deal with the GCS that saw us land both Brad and Luke Brown. O'Meara would have gone 1 and Brad 2 if they were in the open draft the following year.

The sad part is neither have been able to realise their full potential because of serious injuries.....Ask some of the West Adelaise people how good Brad was as a 17 year old in the games he played for them before he was eligible to play AFL.
They weren't pre-listed. We traded for the right to participate in a mini-draft, where O'Meara was selected #1, and Brouch #2. They were never on any GCS list, and were never tied to GCS in any way (unlike Brown, who was pre-listed by them).

** In no way am I disagreeing with your arguments about how good O'Meara & Brouch were as juniors, and how their potential has been wasted due to injury.
