I know they were all invisible in these disappearances from games, didn't know Sloane wasn't there at all. Obviously the case if he cant remember all the white flag raised games. What happened to high standards and being held to account or responsibility?

The "credits" bank is a bottomless pit it seems.

This is exactly why the "easy kill" wins that come at the right time are annoying. They love them though so they can say "we told you so".... against shit opposition!

If we're going to be selective about which games count you may as well take out games vs geelong too, which takes away 2 losses. We are 8th. However our form is worse than that at the moment agreed.
Realistically any team that plays gold coast twice has an advantage. We just as easily could have been given a draw that didn't include the basket case twice. So the fact we sit in 8th is luck. Also of significance is who we have played away. The only decent team we have played away is Geelong. 1 team. Our draw was extremely generous. The club is using that we luckily sit 8th to justify their failed management. We all know we are currently playing bottom 4 if not worse football.

Genuinely done. Club has no idea. None. “Back the side/boys in”. Laughably run club from top to bottom.
Yep. I feel sick. Phil Walsh started something great at this club and Pyke/Burton/Fagan/Roo/Campo/Chapman have completely ruined the culture he was looking to create.
It’s a disgrace.

This is a myth.

Of.all those guys Walsh would've been the first to go.

As many here would recognise, I’ve been vocal about the crows need for a rebuild since shortly after the 2017 gf which was a ‘writing on the wall’ game for a number of players. The list was the oldest in the comp then and failed after one of the softest years in AFL history (crows only won 15 games in HA and finished top) even with the benefit of a charmed run within injuries.

It beggars belief that even after the embarrassing gf defeat and a full year of failure in 2018 that almost all crows fans still believed the list was good enough for a premiership. Now in 2019 and the list has gone backwards again, still I hear voices ‘the list is good enough’ etc.

I have put this comparison up many times in the off-season, which was roundly ridiculed by you people, but hopefully now this sinks in a little easier...

Carlton 23 and under who have played at AFL level:

Williamson Marchbank SPS
Stocker Weitering Goddard
Setterfield Walsh O’Brien
Kennedy Curnow Silvagni
Cuningham Mckay Lang

Dekoning Dow Fisher

Deluca Macreadie Polson Kerr

Stars on every line, 7 players already with 50 games under their belts

Crows:

Doedee ......... ............
........... ........ Milera
Gallucci Jones .............
Murphy Himmleberg.....
Stengle Fogarty Davis

O’Brien Poholke ..........

....... ......... ......... .......

1 x 50 gamer, and probably 3 proven performers

Even if we add the players who haven’t played yet, and the number 1 draft pick, the picture looks very bleak considering that’s all the youth the crows have at their disposal:

Doedee butts scholl
Hamill McPhearson Milera
Gallucci Jones McHenry
Davis Himmelberg Murphy
Stengle Fogarty ............

O’Brien Poholke Rowell

........ ........ .......... .........

The crows list needs a full clean out. It’s not good enough to win a premiership and you are so far behind almost every other team in the comp, clutching at straws to try sneak into the finals is only going to cause more long term pain. Typically players need at least 50 games of AFL footy to produce consistent performances, each week which passes by is putting the crows further behind the 8 ball.

The over 23s can’t get the job done, they are not good enough, they are all replaceable which is the perfect start for a rebuild. The best thing for the crows moving forward is to play their perceived best team and get flogged by Carlton. Maybe then the AFLs most delusional club may get the wake up call required.

If the club and fans were serious, beating carlton and sneaking a lower draft pick shouldn’t even be a talking point. Rebuilding the entire list is what should be the hot topic.

Sorry...stars on every line? Apart from Walsh and Curnow the others have shown sweet FA.
Im sure if we had access to as many top 5 picks and GWS rejects we'd have stars on every line too 😂😂😂

The unaccountability stems from the top. Until our chairman does the right thing and resigns nothing will change. I would make Blight chairman with carte blanche to fire as he sees fit.

A lot of valid points. I think 99% of crows supporters and the wider football supporter sees our problems. Unfortunately the people charged with the ability to fix this problem are delusional, incompetent, arrogant and likely corrupt as they are financially benefiting from the status quo. Unfortunately nothing will change until we hit rock bottom which is likely this week. The next coach and hopefully a new football director will be the ones that sort out the mess. Nothing will happen under Pyke and Campo.

Delusional.

Walsh - best young mid in the comp Weitering - best young key defender in the comp
Mckay - most contested marks per game in the competition. Only 21 years old
Curnow - you already know

The club is a joke, I love this club but right now I can't be bothered.

The need for FOG is obvious, the need for some youth and speed is obvious

But alas
I have a 7yo daughter. She says she absolutely loves footy. Except playing it. And watching it.

I think she likes that I like it and she's my Crows buddy against mum who supports another team.

I'm almost at her level now.

I love the crows.

Except most of the team. And the coaching. And the management. And our general philosophy on success and embracing mediocrity.

It absolutely can compartmentalise loving a player and what they bring to the team.

I love the Jarmans, Mods, Ben Hart the player, Weed etc. I'll never change with that. Should that get them a game next week?

Same story for Tex, Eddie and co. Will always love them, but that's not enough in professional sport.

The legacy a player leaves should not be a selection criterion on a week to week basis.

They do monitor Social Media so there’s no doubt they are aware. The management of Social Media was very interesting after the Showdown. Fagan tweeting, fluff pieces from their own media, Captain facing the media. They knew.

Interesting their media has gone stone cold after Friday. I suspect their Twitter account would have been smashed with irate fans. Laying low this week.

None of that seems to translate into any action though - but they do know that’s for sure

And this is a problem. Why monitor social media? We’re not a government, we don’t rely on formulating policy for re-election. We’re a football club, what is being spoken about us is irrelevant, whether from Vic media or our own supporters. If we’re hell bent on being the best we’d understand the criticism in the digital world. But, internally, we’re not hell bent on success, so we deploy resources to manage the message. I can see our footy dept blowing time in a meeting about how we manage our messaging throughout the week after a disaster. This would 100% happen. Where is Brett Burton, shouldn’t it be him facing the media when the chips are down so that incompetent ******** Hart can continue to **** us over operationally? The players and coaches are schooled and tell us that they do not listen to external messaging, but the club burns hundreds of gorillas every year concerning itself with exactly that. We’re not a club, we’re a bureaucracy that is far more prepared to deploy resources to image maintenance than winning premierships.

There is nothing on the horizon that suggests success will occur. Even a year where luck has it that wins that would ordinarily see you 4th at best gave us an armchair ride to a GF resulted in a disaster. A disaster, mind you, that the CEO uses as evidence that we remain league leading to this day. **** me.

FoxFooty - Crows to keep faith in veterans.

Great... we are in full denial mode that the footy fairy will fix everything.

Sure keep the faith after a bad loss or 2.. but when the 2nd half fade outs have happened in half of our home games, change is a must.

Keeping the faith is pure idiocy when it is a trend.

I might boycott our next game if I don't see selection changes as I have had enough.

Can pretty much guarantee that Greenwood will be dropped, as his effort level was absolutely unacceptable on Friday night. Was Gibbs-like at times. I suspect he might be the only unforced change, and that he’ll be replaced by Gallucci.

Walker (managed) out for Fog would happen at any successful club. So not likely.

Gibbs is the other potential in. Knight would be the logical one to give way there, unless it’s Gibbs and not Gooch that comes in for Hugh. Less than 50% chance.

Mackay won’t be dropped this week. Neither will Betts, Seed or Atkins. Jones needs to play better footy to break in for one of them ASAP.

Hartigan is well and truly under the pump to hold his spot, but will do so this week against the tallish Carlton forward line. Not sure he holds on for the following week - I can see us reassigning Smith or Milera back there and rolling the dice with a smaller setup if we get rolled by Carlton (we are probably going to get rolled by Carlton).

Going to be one of the hardest games to watch in recent memory. The backlash if we lose will be intense.

Take your pick for the fifth. Jack Silvagni beat Nat Fyfe a few weeks ago. Can’t think of too many 21 yo players doing that
