Probably not the right place but ah well do we have a scratch match this weekend again does anyone know?

I heard/saw Port were only taking 26/7/8 to the GC this week are we doing the same or taking full crew?

Was having a read of GC match thread and came across this

Yeah, but let’s see if it’s still doing that in 4 years time.
I was reflecting on Bernie and how he always seemed to get up for Melbourne games against Adelaide. He generally used to make a massive pest of himself.

Out of all the players who left last year, Greenwood was probably the player then I was most keen to keep. Was never that keen on a 4 year contract though. And on the other hand, we need to get games into the youngsters.

Also looking likely that there might be a couple of bigger bodied inside mids available at out 2nd first round pick this year.

To me the oddest thing about our selections is that none of the inclusions are midfielders - when that was, and has been for seemingly aeons now, our major trouble spot. I would like to see both Hamill and McAdam in but I think it will be at the expense of Crocker or Murphy (personally I'd keep McHenry in over Murphy, as he has more upside) and I don't think Kelly will be in the team after suffering concussion - so Hamill for him. I'd keep McAsey in, but play him forward rather than back.

I’m not glad. If this is our future, well FMD, at their best these two wouldn’t get a game in any AFL team as best 22.

It clearly shows where we are.
I dont think they're the future either but every new player deserves a stretch of games to show what they've got.

Im sick of us chopping and changing with the young guys at the drop of a hat

Hamill for Brodie Smith for mine....How he's not more under the Adelaide Big Footy blowtorch on his 2 dismal efforts in 2020 amazes me...It appears in the main he's gets no scrutiny because he's a board favourite?

Average for 2020 : 8.5 disposals, 1.5 tackles, 2 i50's, 0.5 r50's.

If one player needs a message/kick up the ass it's Brodie.
Smith didnt come on in the second half of round 1 though. He had that chest injury. I agree he needs to play well this week though.

It’s almost as if he has drawn a line through Nicks already..
If you listen to Brad Crouch's interview the other day he noted earlier most of what Blighty said a day later...

Have to admit I'm stuffed if I can work out any semblance of a game plan in the 2 games so far and our midfield set ups are hard to work out too, always seems to be a gateway for one of the opposing mids to steam through. I reckon it's nearly got to the point where ROB goes for the smash punch instead of tapping it at his feet to break up the sameness.

10 disposals, 4 of which were turnovers - DE40% against Port

7 disposals against Sydney 60% time on ground...

He's been a million miles off it this season so far.

Just watched the suns game. They are quick and applied immense pressure to West Coast. Don't think we'll be able to handle that and their spread from the contest.

How good is Rowell?! Already close to as dominant in the afl as he was in the u18s in his second game. Strong, skilful and smart. Lock in a brownlow or two for him.
We won't handle it. I saw preseason they were a better team and they have only got better. I feel they will win by 5 to 10 goals. Will be a reality check for Nicks to plays the kids and clean out anyone who won't be part of our next flag asap.

Hartigan should have played last week. Too soon for Macasey to play key back. He needs to be third. Hartigan for Kelly
I disagree personally. And with Talia + Doedee he is effectively 3rd back anyway. Throw Hartigan into the mix and we become so top heavy. Hartigan isn't first 22 quality in my opinion, I wouldn't pick him moving forward under almost any circumstance, McAsey / Butts / Hamill / Worrell should all be chosen ahead of him.

McAsey is the least of our troubles. He's played 2 games. The real concern is Laird, Seedsman, Lynch, Walker, Atkins, Kelly, Brown, Crouches, Milera, Smith. The so called senior players. They are the real problem not some kid barely out of high school.

We need speed. If that isn’t a focus over the next couple of drafts, so help me.

Milera needs to find that next level of intensity. Otherwise he’ll just cruise through the rest of his career being middle of the road at best.

As for selections, I’m really hoping Hamill gets a run, and those still in the side from last week respond like we hope.

We need to get Hamill, McAdam, Schoenberg, Stengle(once his susp is over), Davis, Gallucci in asap. Importantly we must run speed through the middle. Would also like to see what Worrell, Sholl, O'connor, McPherson can do as well at some stage. We have to find 3 or 4 players at least this year.
I would run this team which has pretty good speed:
Brown Talia Doedee
Laird Hartigan/Butts Hamill
Milera Smith Sloane
Walker Fogarty Davis/Gallucci
Mcadam McAsey Stengle(when avail)

ROB MCrouch Jones

BCrouch Schoenberg Mchenry McPherson/Sholl/Worrell

On this, hopefully we've indicated Jones is going to become a full time midfielder and not someone who gets saddled at half forward for most of the game.

McHenry is another who could add a lot of speed if in the midfield as well.
