Also will be a test of our system.

Kelly isn't stupid. He'd know Worrell is building some form and has him for size, pace, potential.

Possession is 9/10ths the law. If he gives up his spot he may not get it back.

In the past we've had senior players put up their hand to play when they shouldn't have, judging by their on-field struggle. Plus we've had coaches bow down to their declarations that they're "right to go."

Will watch with interest.

In the past? It happened last week.

We're also playing our oldest side. Try and look a little deeper.

May as well keep your powder dry for now. I worry what our selection policy would be if all our senior players were available. But as it is now, we aren’t picking an unreasonable side in terms of development. Need a balance. Didn’t pick Mackay last week (famous last words maybe). I like him as the sub. Let the kids play ... either SANFL or AFL.

Worrall not named in SANFL team. ITS HAPPENING!!!!!

Murray, Mackay, Worrall, Jones and HBerg not named

Looks like we won't make any changes to the midfield group.

Looking forward to Mackay being named as the McAdam replacement sub again

Hately's not named in the SANFL either.

Still selected for a game. In the event of warm up injury, it's Mackay they want.

Along with Hately... suggests there will at least 2 changes to the side,... unless we are keeping a spare in addition to sub.

Naa. Don’t agree. Could have easily brought him on and we didn’t. Given he played zero minutes he was the biggest loser of the weekend. I’m glad it wasn’t anyone else on our list. I hope he is our sub again this week too.

Are you talking about the same David Mackay that was dropped to travelling emergency twice to return both times to the AFL side the week after whilst meeting your definition of the "biggest loser of the weekend"? That David Mackay?

Bullshit he's going well but white-hot he is not.

McAsey is not even in the discussion form wise.

Comparing SANFL to AFL? You serious?

All the comparison is there to do is to show you what elite production looks like, and the AFL is a better place to show what the standard for elite production is compared to the SANFL due to the increase in the amount of players, and that stats are more readily taken, higher quality, and more easily available (hence the key word, if). However, the standard for what makes elite production does not change after you get to a certain point. For instance, averaging 30 disposals, and 7 clearances per game would make you one of the best inside midfielders in the SANFL, much like it would in the AFL. The only difference between those two is just how good you need to be to be able to achieve that, hence why a good AFL player can dominate the SANFL, and a good SANFL player is usually just delist fodder at an AFL level.

The key point to take from that comparison is right now, Worrell is producing at an elite level in the SANFL. He's pulling numbers which hold up very nicely to the elite intercept defenders in the AFL in 2021, which is the uppermost that could be expected of any player (because if that level is elite at an AFL level, then the equivalent performances are elite in the SANFL). By that, he has well and truly knocked the door down in the last fortnight. It's either white-hot form, or he's already too advanced of a player for the SANFL to offer anything of substance to his development and needed to be moved up to our best 22 yesterday. White-hot form is taking the more conservative stance at this point for Worrell, because it still leaves open the possibility that there will be a downturn at some point, and there is room for more improvement in the SANFL.

And yes, you've kind of found the point with McAsey. McAsey is in decent form in the SANFL, and we're talking about someone who has overtaken him and potentially another key defender who found himself making a debut only a fortnight ago.
