We played solid for most parts of the night, need to keep changes to a minimal for once and let the team gel

Probably wont beat the Cats anyways, we never do, our biggest historic bogey team along with Collingwood. We could be undefeated and first on the ladder at 21-0, and the Cats on the bottom 0-21, and they will still beat us.

Reckon we just preserve with the Lipinski file. Clearly not quite physically ready yet, but getting games into him is a better alternative than playing guys like Jong, roarke, honey and even Dahlhaus IMO.

I’m so so so so confused as to what sort of player Smith is? To me he seems a small shut down defender which he doesn’t really do. I think he needs to be dropped. As does Honeychurch.

Would like to see Trengove in the ruck. Always gives his all but I don’t like him in defense. With our KPD’s back now, I’m not sure that’s where he is needed most. We recruited him to play ruck, played well in the preseason there. I would like him to finally get a go in there rotating with Boyd. Thought Boyd was ok in the ruck tonight (lost the battle but played a role) but needs to spend more time forward. Can’t see him becoming a dominant ruck and I think English can be. Boyd needs to continue learning his forward craft, he is a forward who can play second ruck, that’s where he needs to be spending the majority of his time in the next 9 games

At present he is being selected because we don't have any other player of his type, that is, someone with genuine speed that can set up multiple plays. Unfortunately we aren't seeing this nearly enough but I don't see the match committee having the balls to drop him.

I’d like to see him just run everytime he gets the ball like Saad does. I don’t care if he gets caught, just have a crack at opening up the game with his pace. Playing way too conservative atm. There was one play last night where he had the ball at half back, had nowhere to go, held on to it and eventually pulled the trigger around his body to the middle of the ground where he found a target. Was the type of risk I’d like to see him take more often.
