I think we shouldn’t get carried away with big calls following a win over the Dogs. They LET you play fast and look good and their defence is atrocious. Fyfe would have looked monstrous up forward that game I think.

Having said that, when he comes back, I think he should basically play exclusively up front unless the midfield needs a mid game shake-up. What the first choice 6/7 looks like with Fyfe up front is another question I suppose
It was the perfect game to get the confidence back into the fast transition and daring kicks. It's a shame we didn't play them sooner and taken that confidence into the Sydney, Richmond and Melbourne games but better late than never. Hopefully they build on it

So long as JLo is watching JKs effort here today..it would be the icing on a huge career cake if he kicks a bag against us next week as a swan song.

We play better without Fyfe.

Controversial but I think we move the ball faster and look way more dangerous.
Our highest score for the year was with Fyfe.

Do we put logue into the ruck against Nic nat? Has the leap and the athleticism.
I don't think Nic will play more than half the game after a six day break when he already barely plays 2/3rds. We can play Darcy for those minutes and give him a light day, or play him his regular minutes and try and exploit their Williams match up.

Not sure if serious.
Play Meek. Owned him last time.
Week off with No Peel. Nicnat has a 6 day break, which he can’t back up because he’s absolutely cooked

Think you have to play Treacy even if he hasn't played for 3 weeks just to have a back up key forward who would have played recently at AFL level that could come in and replace someone who could get injured during in finals - as well as replace Taberner in the short term, keeping the same forward line structure with 3 talls.

Treacy's last game was on July 23 against Perth and he didn't do much in the forward 50m but there was a big muddy patch up the middle of ground and it seemed like rather than lead up to the kicker the Peel forwards wanted the ball to a contest where they could stand on the spot and wrestle.

Most games for Peel he has had a presence in the forward line and makes a contest, belying what is shown on the stat sheet, so with Barrass probably taking Lobb most likely we need someone else to kick to that can convert with a set shot.

Other thing is he gets into the game when he takes a run in the ruck.

Some of the guys at Peel, such as Treacy and Sturt, would kill to play on a dry deck wouldn't they. I reckon both might have been amongst the goals last night.

When Fyfe comes back we need to commit to playing him forward for the rest of his career. I think we hold back our current (and future) midfield by switching him in there. Switta can be that change-up when he returns.
I think so too.

Playing Fyfe on a forward flank might extend his playing career by a couple of years too.

Rather than retire at the end of 2023 as a 32 year old on preliminary final weekend. Could play on as a 34 year old in 2025.

You know what?

If Tabs is too sore or injured leading up to the Derby, I would seriously Bring in Meek for Taberner.

It's gonna be weird having 2 rucks up forward.

Saying that, let meek ruck 50 percent of the game and Darcy to ruck the other 50 percent.

Looks like there's going to be a bit of rain sometime on Saturday, so it might be slippery at the least, but I think Longmuir earlier in the seaon mentioned one time after a training session that he thought Treacy was one of the best handlers of the wet weather conditions in the team - gave him some praise relating to the slippery conditions is what I recall.
