From Bevo’s presser he said Richards will be out there running and the media will see him out there running. The issue was him kicking when he felt something. Said that he’s unlikely but it’s an unusual one and we haven’t ruled him out by some miracle he’s right to play.

That sounds unlikely to me and that it’s more to do with power and kicking motion.

On Emmett he said he won’t play back. Will play ruck and forward. Said he doesn’t want to disrupt Darcy and Lobb being forward and back.

Clearly Emmett and Croft sharing ruck duties. Sounds like Darcy and Lobb will only be if it’s going really south.

Jeez it's a young team with these inclusions. Don't get me wrong, anyone over McNeil, but we must be massively down on Hawks for games played this week.

Yep I read that as Croft is going to ruck. Tbh I like it..

He’s aggressive, extremely quick and mobile and has a great defensive work ethic.

I think the potential is there for him to be a handful and offer something quite different to the norm.

My only real worry is that he’s a bit undersized for the ruck and hasn’t had much experience there (or at this level at all).

Could be one of those break out games where he knocks everyone’s socks off, or a total fizzer we joke about for years.

i would be surprised if Gunston plays. Guys of his age are pencilled in for rests at the start of the year. A five day break and interstate would be one of the games you would think he would miss.

Anything is possible when it comes down to the AFL ****ing with the rules.

However, as it stands today. It doesn't look good for a guy who relies on physicality being overlooked for a skinny 1st game rookie who is going to play a part in a ruck rotation without a recognised ruck. One would've thought that if Smith was going to play, it'd have been against Meek and Reeves. Two guys also not exactly blessed with the athleticism demanded by the recent rule changes.

Keen to see Gallagher get another go. Think he was given too much exposure too early and soured a lot of people’s view of him but he has some good attributes.

Seems a strange decision starting his career as a pinch hitting fwd ruck considering our plethora of fwds and lack of genuine developing tall backs.

He has to tidy up his disposal. The price of turnovers is huge now, and I believe hawks are the best in the comp at scores from turnovers while we’re still bottom 6 at defending them. If he comes in just has to minimise those in his game.
