I didn't call for Ibbo to be dropped. He just needs a good old fashioned kick up the arse.

Stats say he had three tackles last week. Anyone remember one? .

He saved a goal by chasing down and tacking Motlop at one point. I remember it because I was surprised he had that much speed. He's been very solid the last month or so, playing well and doesn't warrant a kick at all in my view.

Well the players a flying out this arvo so we will know who the 25 man squad is.

Anyone think they will keep the same 25 ?
Clarke, Roberton and Sutcliffe the emergencies.

The only foreseeable changes could be Griffin instead of Clarke and Neale for Sutcliffe.

The team had its final training run on Fremantle Oval this morning before flying out for Adelaide this afternoon.

The group included Matthew Pavlich, who moved freely for the entire session.

Pavlich took the team aside at one point, giving them a lengthy address before they broke out into a full-ground drill.

Luke McPharlin appears to be recovering well from a hamstring injury as he completed a series of half-paced runs early in the session.

Geez Sutcliffe is a smooth mover, don't want him in the 22 this week but if he keeps developing he could turn into a real top shelf player in a couple of years

I really dont know how you stop a guy who goes as hard as he does at the contested ball, but is just as comfortable blitzing it with his pace on the outside. He really has become the complete player.. the only similarity I can draw is with Chris Judd in his early days.

Matt Deboer has some speed to him, more than what he gets credit for... I know he has performed well in his own right, but we sure as hell cant leave dangerfield on his own again, and deboer can match him for toughness at the ball.... he may be our only option, I just cant see anyone else being able to get the job done. Crowley would be too slow you'd think....

Fortunately, if anyone is capable of devising a plan to bring him down, it is Ross Lyon

I remember the last game we played against Adelaide, Dangerfield was allowed to run about doing whatever he liked. De Boer was moved onto him (I think) some time in the third quarter. Dangerfield still did a couple of very good things, but his output dropped by a lot.

We can't afford to tag both guys, and Crowley on Thompson seems to have worked really well previously. De Boer was beaten on a couple of occasions during the game by Dangerfield, so he'll have even more fire in the belly if he gets a shot this time. Matching De Boer up against Dangerfield consistently... not as a pure negator but as a head-to-head, accountable match-up has got to be the best option.

De Boer has the strength to put Dangerfield on his back (and did on a couple of occasions), and also the strength, pace and focus to stay near him at the stoppages. In an open field Dangerfield will probably be able to maintain the space pretty comfortably, but De Boer won't be far behind. It's a good match-up I reckon, as Mundy and Fyfe aren't accountable enough for that kind of match-up.

Hoping that that's how they'll line up from the start (or at least after the first couple of minutes) this time.

Yeah he's an issue but we simply have to tackle him, there's always a player that's there to tackle him and arm tackles don't work, lay the shoulder in and drive with the hips.

Matt De Boer. Our most prolific, and probably our most effective tackler. He has the strength to do it... and I saw him do it a couple of times in the last half against Adelaide.

A lot of talk about dangerfield and de boer seems to be a good option as far as tackling strength and forcing dangerfield to be accountable.

What about the Sloane Ranger? Is someone like Fyfe or Hill an option to force accountability out of Sloane?

Fyfe would be a good matchup for him IMO.

I'd wager that RL just puts Crowley on Thompson then says to our midfield 'beat the rest'.

Whatever we do we can't just do what we've already done this year against them.
In the clearances, they've smashed us both times this year. Dangerfield had 10 in each of the games against us and only 3 last week against Sydney. Whatever Sydney did, can we emulate it? I still haven't seen that game.
Obviously Sandi and the midfield are doing better than round 10 and we didn't have him in round 20 so yeah we have a lot of weapons in Hill, Fyfe, Mundy that they have to worry about.
But I think we need a specific plan for Dangerfield, we can't just say Crowley to Thompson and leave him alone.

Well the team just left for Adelaide as I saw Peter Sumich being interviewed at the airport.

At this stage there are no reports as to who flew and who didn't though. Can any one assist?

Sydney tended to have more half forwards to cover the outside of the stoppages to guard against dangerfield running out. Think it was mentioned on foxtel, on the couch I believe. Bolton, Okeefe and jack were doing the in and under work with 4 or5 players strategically placed surrounding the congested area. This time around we have sandi and fyfe with a fitter mundy and Barlow, should even things out.

Nat Fyfe at Perth Airport.

Consistency is the key for Fremantle in Friday's semi-final clash with Adelaide after the Dockers indicated they would take an unchanged line-up into the sudden-death battle at AAMI Stadium.
The Dockers departed Perth today and took the same 25 players that went to Melbourne last week for the win over Geelong at the MCG.
