Does Red come straight back?
Wood time off for ankle?
Honeychurch?

Brisbane performed well in the pre-season and then pushed us in Bob's game. Word is they are going to bring several players back this week so reeks of a game they are targeting. Nobody can be taken lightly this year.

Personally I would not be surprised to see Picken miss a second trip North in two weeks.

Cloke performed ok today but definitely didn't set the world on fire.

Otherwise this win reminded me a lot of last year's finals in that it was a very even effort.

Out: Picken
In: Redpath

Can't see Honeychurch back in unless it's for injury.

Going to be hard to change the team that spanked the Bombers.
Maybe Honey will come in for a senior player who is rested. I'm thinking of Murphy.
No way do we leave Picken at home unless he's injured.

Nobody from the VFL said "pick me" this week so the only other candidates are Moyd and Redpath. I'd give Cloke another week but he'll need to do a bit more than against Essendon. I'd take Moyd to Brisbane for sure and make either him or Honey the emergency.

IN: Honeychurch
OUT: Murphy (managed)

I'm confused...you said picken missed the trip north when he kicked 6 against the Gold Coast up north...

I think he meant Picken would not make a second trip up north so soon after going up to Cairns.

I'd probably rest a few this week to start prepping for finals. Dont need to risk key players getting injured.

Out: Bont, Roughead, JJ

In: Clay, English, Moyd
No way scrag... we ****ed up the year, our finals have started NOW. we need % against the lions because it might come down to that in the end, we need to play to win, there is no room to rest or relax. Only have ourselves to blame, september is now.

To be honest I wouldn't be dropping anyone. It's been a while since we last won at the Gabba, and we need all the wins and percentage we can get.

Does anyone know how English is after the VFL match?

Interested in thoughts on this but I don't see it being a decision between Cloke and Redpath (despite that ostensibly being the change this week). They play different roles to me. Red seems less versatile and just a straight lead and mark player that only really came off well in the Port game year. It seems in a strange way we play differently when he plays and become more one dimensional and it bounces out more quickly. Overall I prefer our game style with Cloke in, Picken playing Stinger better than Stringer and Dickson offering sharp leads and Bont floating forward as well.

Cloke all the way over Redpath.

Now I'm not saying Brisbane are easy beats, because no side is, especially at home.

Out of the games left, this is the type of game that could be where he gets a few cheapies, gets up and about and can take that into the last pasty of the season.

TBH he shouldn't. Both players went low at the contest. Essendon player was fine

But we know how it is. No name players get suspended for nothing and players like danger will get off

I thought the same, the commentary team didn't replay it and continually review it as they usually do with incidents that are likely to be looked at.

I wouldn't make changes unless forced.

Sounded like stringer isn't ready.

Honeychurch was going well enough to hold his spot but he's not going well enough to push someone out.

Reds last game was good but I just don't think he and Cloke can play in the same team due to Cloke needing to be a bit deeper as he is second rucking. Although he bevo was ever going to try the red Cloke combo again it should be this week against the young lions defenders.

For me though no change

One of the "Foibles of the fixture" this year was the two
trips to Perth early and the two trips to QLD late in the
year. The Perth trips sucked (2) losses, hopefully the
two QLD trips can net (2) wins. There really is not a
huge amount of players to bring in at this stage only
Redpath and Honeychurch could be considered for this
week.
