Don't you guys get it yet?
Beveridge does not believe in slow, strong ruckmen. He will never play them unless he is forced to.
He also hates Trengove both as a defender and a ruckman.

Bruce is also a terrible backup ruckman.

Jacobs played his best game last year against English in the final round of the season at Ballaratt. It was the same story in 2018 too on a wet Adelaide Oval. English can beat him around the ground, but Jacobs will crush him in the stoppages.

English is not a solo-ruckman. We will keep struggling in the middle until we have a stronger presence contending the hitouts, which means we will keep struggling until Beveridge's contract has run out.

Why is English not a one out ruckman? He’s the exact prototype who’s just yet to hit is physical peak. Huge tank, good hands, good skills. The AFL has been full of late developing ruckman. Including Jacobs. English is no different to them, except he may be better than most.

I don't think there's been that much vitriol directed towards Gardner. I'm bemused and pissed off with Bev for picking him.

Sweet is an emergency (yet again). Can only hope for a late call-up as I think he'd match up well against Jacobs, and we could do with his aggression in the contest.

Still not the best team we could have picked, but hopefully the players that purely have to be on short notice play for each other and for the jumper

Just seen the selected teams – too short
GWS have 4 talls back and 3 forward
We have 2 talls back and 2 forward
Be prepared for the zone to be pulled apart and mismatches a plenty
No second ruck – Bevo is an idiot
I’m at meltdown already o_O

Lipinksi out, but Lloyd remains. I don't understand it.
I’m more annoyed that Lipinski is out instead of Dale. Dale has never proven anything other than a flash in the pan few weeks where we were destroying everybody.

He has never shown he can even moderately impact a game unless everything is going our way. 3 goalless games in a row under 10 disposals and a whopping 2 tackles in 3 games.

Bailey Dale is the icing on the cake, but someone left the cake out in the rain. It took so long to bake it, and Bev lost the recipe in 2017.

Obvious changes that will please most of us here o BigFooty, but Lipinsky? WTF, he was one of our best in the first half. If you’re gonna drop a mid, make it Macrae, he is our new turnover king. Seriously these selections, Lloyd and Dale very lucky, JJ too!

Maybe give Naughton a run in the ruck at times. I seem to remember he was OK when tried before.

Will get him involved in the game and English can rest forward.

KM
Not keen to risk Naughts in Ruck after tweaking his PCL in the Final.
Bring him up and give him licence to roam, get his skates on if we can improve in midfield . And see if he can burn off his direct opponent going with the flight

I think he’s exactly what we lack in our forward half tbh and if you look back at small forwards drafted recently they have all impacted straightaway. Higgins (rich), rozee, Miers etc. those types add a spark to the team and for us would offer much needed goal nous and speed
If we go down this week I would think Weightman would be a strong chance to see if he can add some bite to our F50 which is sadly lacking currently

Lloyd is our only natural smaller forward. Has to stay in. Otherwise we will be subjected to another game of Libba playing forward.

Yeah, fair point about Dale being a downhill 🎿. I can see the potential in him though. Can kick the ball nicely and can move like a smaller player when he's motivated to. Is some consistency too much to ask for? I'd have been happy for either Dale/Lloyd to make way for McLean (who needs a solid game too).

Lloyd was always a stop-gap recruit and we probably don't pay much for him, but his last game deserves the ol' spinal tap two word review.

Anyway. It's "bust a deal, face the wheel" for Lipinski who sits at least this one out.

We are going to have to wait until NEXT YEAR to get our revenge on Greene?

Well, at least I have another reason to live another year. :innocent:

Here’s an idea guys. English is a decent forward. Put him in the forward line with Bruce, Naughton full back, the backline looks so much better, so does the forward line. Then, play Trengove or Sweet in the ruck 75%. When English goes into the ruck, Trengove can go back or forward. So many options. If Bevo loves this versatility mantra, there’s your answers
