Normally I’m not big on it either but as I said Are we really a lot worse by playing West and Weightman as opposed to Suckers and Dicko?

I wouldn’t drop a mature bloke if he was going really well but while they are just middling or worse take the opportunity t get games into kids in a season that is a mess and already over

Appreciate where your coming from, but I think there is a critical mass of maturity and confidence that you need for a team to function well as a unit.

This is mainly because too many players are just focusing on themselves until they become established.

We are currently selecting teams that are already under that critical mass, more youth and inexperience will likely just make things worse.

Does anyone else worry about us not being hard enough and then seeing people want to bring Schache back in?

Schache is one of the last tall forwards I'd want to bring in sadly. Has potential, some games towards the end of last year he got more physical but then he dropped off again.

English had 12 disposals and 4 marks
Marshall had 11 disposals and 6 marks

Marshall had help so again it’s wrong to suggest Marshall offered more around the ground.

Other than the ruck(which no one will deny is his main job Obviously) he pretty much broke even and against two rucks that isn’t too bad.

Hopefully Bev gives him some help soon because I think he is still two years 40 more games from being able to hold his own against the best

Marshall kicked the goal too which is where his impact was felt more.

English definitely needs help soon. Right now, it's having serious impact on our ability to win games. He played well in the preseason game against Port, and that was against Lycett and Westhoff which aren't exactly easy opponents, but we haven't seen anything close to that performance since. Trengove needs to come in for Gardner this week or we have no chance

Jong needed for big body V GWS. A couple of sloppy handballs but one of very few who deserved a shower.
Suckling who seems to be the other whipping boy at least can kick. We are in no position to drop good users of the ball.
We really tend to overestimate the ability of some of the bigger names when the going is tough.

Schcahe is not the right move this week, we need to go with sweet or Trengove to help English and that means English spends time forward which makes picking another kpf redundant.

It’s clear we need three things in this side, help for English, some pace and pressure in the forward 50 and a better kpd than Gardner.

If I was being a little more realistic though but still following my strict measures, my outs would be:

JJ, Gardner, Gowers, Suckling, Dale and Richards (injury).

Ins would be:
Dickson, Trengove, Sweet, Mclean, West, Cordy.

I just realised I didn't include Williams in my extended list. He was one of the three who actually played well yesterday so he will definitely not be dropped. Same goes for Jong.

Trengrove to give English a chop out. Also gives us the option to have three talls forward or back whatever suits us best.
Would rather Bruce than Cordy at CHB, he was originally a back and has done bugger all forward for us so far.
Suckling takes the kick ins- now you can run out of the square Suckling would have options anywhere within 70m yet we have been using Caleb & Cordy (another rule change we have not adjusted to).
JJ on his last warning, but at the same time whoever is tagging him and bont needs to cop it from everyone

Issue is that he always takes 3-4 games to get going and adjust to the level.

Agree on his inclusion, I have him in my best 22, but willing to bet a fair amount that he'll be one of the first names many here will call to be dropped when he does get the call up.
