Crozier's working on his size. It takes time to build up properly (and avoid injury) unless you're a freak like Fyfe. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-12-07/size-matters-as-crozier-targets-fyfelike-transformation-

I think I agree with others that his best position is high half forward but he's so inconsistent it's really hard to judge. I'm not convinced he has or ever will have the endurance to play in the midfield. He has a good range so can kick from outside 50 and is normally fairly accurate when he does. I like his aerial ability but he never seems to use it. He rarely takes a contested mark (I suspect because of his size) and takes very few marks total in an average game. He's super fast, so seems to be capable of getting separation when leading up but for whatever reason he doesn't seem to be considered a suitable target for our other players to kick to.

Nothing in his analysis tells me he's a keeper but there is just this feeling with him that he could offer something amazing when everything clicks. I'd persist for a few more weeks with him but he really needs to show more and some consistency - he's probably lucky we are in the position we are. I really hope he does show some good form in the coming games but on the flip side he's had 4 years already and he's no developing KPP.

Crozier has a position to play. Unfortunately for the last 2 years that position has been Maynes and for the past 2 years Mayne has been struggling at this position. We had another called Duffy. Remember him? Absolute X Factor (a controversial term here it seems) He showed a bit in his first game with 3 goals and almost helped us win against Geelong from nowhere. He never got a chance. A poster here asked would he (Croz) get a game for the hawks. Yep. 100%. He'd get a few! If Mayne had struggled like that for the hawks he'd be dropped after 6 games. Duffy would get a shot for 6 or so games to show what he could do and Croz would get the same chance. I'd throw a cheeky bet on that Croz would make it, Duffy, probably not, but he'd get the chance. That's why they're the bench mark. The hawks demand so much of their players that 6 poor games gets you dropped. Ballas, Mayne, Sutcliffe, D.Pearce have all at some point had that run (they are best 22, I'm not doubting that) and never once had a feeling they'd be dropped. I'm not sure if that creates complacency but I truly believe that if Crozier got given 50 games where 30 he wasn't a sub he'd be a best 22 by now.

If you place Fyfe in back pocket for his first 40 odd games and 25 as sub do you think he would've become what he is? Probably, bad example but you get my point. Crozier is being asked to play a position that doesn't fit what he is. You give him an attacking team that averages 100 or so points he'd probably be a 1-2 goal a game sort of forward capable of a 4 or 5 every so often. Now I'm not saying drop Mayne for Crozier, however I don't want us to treat Yarran the same way we treated Duffy and never gave him a shot on Maynes poor form. Crozier needs a run of games and watch it click. If by round 22 he has been given ample games and shown nothing... I'll eat my hat and concede defeat.

Crozier is going to be given the chance to show us if he has what it takes and if he has developed throughout this season, so we will soon see. I think he does have what it takes and for him it is probably more about feeling like he belongs in the team and once he feels like he does I think his confidence will sky rocket and it will translate on to the field. He always just seems to be on the edge of having a breakout game and then the next week he will seem like he has gone backwards. He is a confidence player and like I say once he get his mojo I think we will see a different player.

Sheridan is the one who should be dropped from the side and never come back. Trade him. He's a pea heart with no physical presence, can't kick on the run (could go on all day).
Bring Ibbo back in and run Sutty, Ibbo and Tucker off the back line and stick with it.

Tommy Sheridan isn't a peaheart. Absolutely loves the club, stupid call.

His build doesn't look like it's changed at all.

Gonna be wet on Saturday. Selectors may decide to go with the grunts in clancee, suban, gu and de boer. May be an advantage if it turns into a slog.

Agree on all of that but just wanted to mention that at the time of drafting, he was rated by all the draft watchers as a touch speculative and all agreed that he'd need more time than the usual first round pick to develop.

May help us get closer but does not help our future at all. Maybe one in but that's all, DeBoer is the only one who has been unlucky not to be selected for more games.

Every outside mid ever has been labelled soft at one stage or another and it looks like Sherro is no exception. I wouldn't be against 'managing' him and bringing in Ed Langdon or Ethan Hughes but I still think he has a big future with us.

Like Ibbo he is not beyond being dropped but he has a future at the club and will be retained and developed (remember similar criticism of Hill). Hughes, Yarren, Bennell and Apeness all to potentially play games by the end of the year so something to look forward to.

I'd actually forgotten about Ibbo until you just mentioned him. Be interesting to see whether the one game was enough for his readmission or whether they want to send him a stronger message. And yeah all those guys should get multiple games before the season's out, Hughes and Yazza must be really close.

You called him a pea heart, which kinda implies that he doesn't give a shit, which couldn't be further from the truth.
I don't think you understand what 'pea heart' means. He's soft as butter, rarely wins 1 on 1's for the ball. Just don't think he's got much to offer, happy for him to prove me wrong but for his draft pick he's already taking too long..

He's certainly a lot better than he was when we drafted him but I agree, probably still has some work to do in the gym. I am always in two minds about bulking up for speedsters. If they can build strength without too much extra bulk I'd probably prefer that, as then they don't lose speed. I was also in the Fyfe's gone too big this year camp. F**k I hope Croz shows something over the next few weeks - we really need a guy with attributes like his to step up atm.

Very good point, I think Stephen Hill is somebody who eventually found the perfect balance but he has some pretty handy genes. I think Croz is fine, maybe a couple more kilos wouldn't go astray but I don't think he's in need of too much more muscle.

Agreed on Croz's build ,its fine. He needs to get a hold of the football a hell of a lot more. I'm amazed that he gets an easy run on here . Tucker and Blakely I noticed have been criticised on here after a couple of games .Sheridan copping it now . Croz has had 4 years to get it right.

Nail hammer head. For a guy who's been on an AFL list for as long as him, the minimal development physically is dissapointing. He's got reasonable genes, his brother who isn't a professional athlete is more developed. Burst speed is poor which is all about muscle development. I haven't seen a skinny sprinter. Maybe it's our training program making endurance athletes and not contested beasts? Though not sure that's the case when you see FYfe becoming a monster. Physically he looks like a first or 2nd year player. Somethings gone wrong.

Agreed on all points, and I've been luke warm on Crozier for a while, but didn't he have glandular fever 1st or 2n d year? That would set you back one preseason at least.
