T'was the opposite yesterday once DP made the final side and instantly gifted the Swans 4 goal opportunities in the first quarter. Absolutely morale sapping.
Yeah DP was far from the only reason we lost but I have noticed a trend this year when we play ball burners in the back line to start the game. Pretty much every game we've lost this year has started with our defenders doing really well to stop scores only to have their hard work wasted with Danyle, Spurr, Sutty, Ibbo etc giving the ball straight back coming out of D50, and it coming back over their heads for a goal. Our other defenders then seem to all curl up into defensive (foetal) positions and we lose all attacking capability and willingness to take the game on. After a handful of turnovers and inability to move the ball out of defence our midfield then also seems to give up and once that happens there's a strong chance we get smashed.

If Pearce isn't the one making way then our last game ever at Subi may become a riot.
Yep - I called it an anarchy in another thread. I could vaguely understand the one off return game - came after his only half decent game for Peel and they probably needed a quick reminder of why he needs to be cut loose. My thoughts on how it went down (and Cobbler you're much better at this);

RTB: So Bondy have you seen enough, get the settlement paperwork ready.
Bond: He has another year to run Rosco.
RTB: I couldn't give a s*#t Bondy and as for Lloyd, I want some of those Sailor Jerry and dry that he was drinking when Fanyle was signed for 2-years.
Bond: Was he that bad I didn't notice. He still has another year to run Rosco.
RTB (shaking uncontrollably): After 2 hours of footy that's the best you can come up with. #*#* it I'll play him at HB and we'll see how that goes. It's as bad as #*#*en seems Bondy.

Someone more creative can take over...

If Crozier comes back in, I wouldn't mind seeing him line up at the centre bounce a few times. See what he can do.

He's a surprisingly strong tackler considering his size.

Out:

Suttclife
Suban
Pearce
- These 3 have to go. They're not apart of the future, time to blood youngsters, they've had their time. Suban won't be any better then he is, Sutty as well. They've played 250+ games between them, and hardly shown much for it.
Rather play De Luca ahead of them two, he's a contested player and gets involved as much as those 2.

Kersten - pea hearted performance. Has no second gear, floats around doing nothing. But he won't get dropped, Ross likes him.

Ballas- another one that shouldn't be here next season. His past month has been so poor. Not the same niggling self. He's showing his age.

In:
Crozier
Bennell
Nyhuis
Duman
- just blood the youngsters. Two games to go. Give them a chance, motivation for next season. Duman should get a sniff of what AFL is about.

Out: D.Pearce, Cox or Kersten (too many talls (Tabs stays, and I doubt RTB will drop Kersten), Sutcliffe (shuffling the decks I know, but we need to have a look at Sheridan; 0 tackles for him was telling), Johnson (he looks a little injured and fatigued - need to have another look at Collins). Mundy is another that may be injured.

In: H. Bennell, Nyhuis, Sheridan, Collins, Crozier

Duman has only played 1 game back at Peel after a decent lay-off, he would be a chance for the final Essendon game. I was listening to 91.3FM Peel commentary and he played good 2 and half quarters but went quiet thereafter. Late in the third he came away from a heavy marking contest limping but did play out the last quarter but only 1 possession I think.

This should be 150 and out for Ballantyne but who knows.

Needs a "not ideal" and a "does that make sense?".

lol Kersten had been playing quite well for the previous few weeks.. Poor yesterday but hardly and orphan there.

Exactly this. Funny when Spurr goes out, we play great football out the back and Ryan/Weller rebounds confidently.

Suddenly we put D. Pearce back and it's looking back to what it was with Spurr around.

Ross is trying to have experienced leaders up back but that's just hampering the youngsters quite a bit. MJ should be the only experienced player down back, and thats it. Do that the last two rounds and I'm sure we ll be more attacking rebounding out the back

PLay Cox at CHB if Johnno is cooked. Can't have Kersten, McCarthy, Tabs abd Cox all in Forward Line. Cox ia All Australian U/18's CHB, why are we trying to turn him into forward & Pitch hitting ruckman.

Ibbo along with D.Pearce, Suban, Sutcliffe are yesterday's men.

Hard this week since only 5 players had a go yesterday. I am giving the forwards some leeway since what little delivery they got was pretty ordinary.

Out: Pearce, Suban, Cox (unless Johnno gets a rest)
In: Bennell, Crozier, Nyhuis

FTR, I don't think this is remotely what it will be but I can hope.

Yep forget Ibbo, I forgot about Crozier. I've edited my earlier post.

You would think so and DeLuca looks good to get a few games in a row so that he can make a case to be retained.

Yeah, enjoyed watching him run through the midfield in the second half. I know he relished the opportunity too.
Was a little disappointing not many of the lads got around him when he kicked his first goal though. Should have done enough to play out the year which is great.

Yeah was an awful statement of where the team's heads' were at.You still get round your blokes when they bowl a milestone.Basics!
I was quite disgusted by the cbf. attitude, hope they cop a serious reaming for that.Really want to have a look at themselves.
Fuqken unacceptable.

Sorry but you'll find almost all of the players gave him a bit of a "hair ruffle" It was definately more than 12 i was watching it carefully and they came up in twos and threes. Rather than as one big group as you might have noticed we were 12 goals down. The commentators didn't really notice ( at then got it wrong) as Roos was prattling on about nothing as usual.

I was taking Dolla's word there I've got to admit.
Haven't watched the game yet but listening on the radio they also mentioned a lack of congratulations.
I'll get back after I've watched it.

Roos was absolutely doing my head in, just a tool. "Very hard to pry a player from Sydney, the lifestyle, the culture, great people". Stupid ****er; Mumford, Tom Mitchell, Malceski, Lewis Jetta...
