Could easily see us beating the Hawks at the g, this game is harder than what next week would be, hawks in horrible form and can't see them flicking a switch against Geelong
I sort of feel the same, although wouldn't be surprised to see Hawks turn it on when it matters once again.

Massive hypothetical but just say we got up in the first two games... Good chance we'd be travelling to the SCG to play Sydney.... Definitely not the end of the world!!

Most guys seem to have the same 4-5 outs in Minson hrovat Stevens Williams then it seems to be out of Dunkley jong smith.

What do people think with Cordy? Does he stay in?

My thinking is he stays unless we bring Campbell in otherwise we are back to the toyd stringer combo that didn't work when toyd went in to the ruck.

Personally I'd drop Cordy for Campbell, yes he may be a bit underdone but he gives us the flexibility to chuck Roughead back if need be and we have two guys in toyd and Campbell that will be harder for McGovern and barrass to out mark

Yeah no doubt they could go up a level come finals but they have been underwhelming lately and age could be about to grab them.

Yeah not to scared of the swans at home beaten them twice in two years would see it as a tight tough contest that could go either way.

This is really the hardest week

Alright my final team would be

Boyd Hamling Moz
JJ Wood Biggs

Macrae Libba Hunter

McLean Stringer Daniel
Clay Boyd Dickson

Campbell Bont Dahl

Suckling Rough Picken Jong

Out: Roberts, Minson, Stevens, Hrovat, Williams, Dunkley, Cordy
In: Wood, Roughead, Macrae, Libba, McLean, Campbell, Stringer

I actually really love that team, would definitely be the strongest team we've fielded in weeks. I think it's built for finals and also Subi.

I don't like dropping Dunks and Stevens as I think they could be really useful in a final but I want a bit more run against weagles. Clay makes the cut because I think he could go berserk with a weeks rest under his belt. Sort of player who I could see being the difference.

Extra tall in Campbell is a must in a final for mine

I must be the only one on this forum who does not want any players coming back around the 80% mark. It just doesn't work. Go with what your got, have faith in them.

I'm thinking even if the 5 are picked expect a couple of late withdrawals.

Think McLean will definitely get a run, it's just difficult to say who for, with all our other expected ins being Stringer, Roughead, Wood, Libba and Macrae.

Also really want Williams to stay in however I don't see how that's possible. As it would be extremely harsh to drop Dunkley after a 13 tackle game.

doesn't sound like anyone's as low as 80%. They're available, and the only thing that makes them not cherry ripe is the lack of match conditioning

that's a bloody good team. Ultimate flexibility too by playing the three "rucks". Rough could go back, Boyd can play full time forward. And the blokes to kick to are bigger and more worthy of Mcgovern's attention. Cordy just won't be.

Libba had surgery. Mark Murphy did the same injury in round 10 and was done for the season.

All players want to players finals I understand that, yet it can be to the determent of the team. I just hope the medico's are making the call rather the players and the romance of finals....

Difference between libba and murphy was that murphy opted not to have surgery. After his injury didnt heal after a long lay off they did the surgery.

Libba had the surgery immediately. As said in the pressers it all about pain tolerance now.

P.S stop being a bunch of sooks about the eagles being confident, they have every right to
Lol,wanted to say the same thing. I don't get what people going to another clubs board actually expect to read. Without going there personally I would have expected them to be very, very confident this week

Getting really excited now, I don't think I'm gonna be able to sleep very well tonight, or concentrate at work tomorrow...

If we win this game I will literally wet my pants...

Only the players concerned and to a certain extent the coaching staff, could put a figure on their level of fitness. There is, however, an unwritten rule of football that is as old as the game itself: players who are underdone should not play in finals.
I would be happy to leave any players out for whom there is doubt about their fitness and go with those who are fully fit irrespective of names.

Yeah the 3 rucks is a must for mine, doubtful it happens though. If it doesn't I'd probably want Williams in. Want as much run and quality kicks as possible.

I'm really really positive about this game, I think we'll play some of the best footy we've played all year and it will be similar to last years final, although hopefully with a better result. Hope I'm not setting myself for disappointment though.

IIRC Bev mentioned in passing something along the lines of, "... even if we are a bit smaller than we might be in the future." I'm expecting something along the lines of this:

OUT: Cordy, Roberts, Minson, Stevens, Williams, Hrovat
IN: Stringer, Wood, Roughead, Liberatore, Macrae, McLean

FB: Morris - Hamling - Biggs
HB: Johannisen - Wood - Boyd
C: Macrae - Bontempelli - Hunter
HF: Suckling - Stringer - McLean
FF: Smith - Boyd - Dickson
R: Roughead - Liberatore - Dahlhaus
I: Dunkley - Jong - Daniel - Picken
