Gaff
Priddis
Shuey

for mine.
I'd have the tag/attention order as Shuey > Gaff > Priddis.

Shuey is our premier mid. He has pace, takes the game on and, unlike Gaff, is a great kick off either foot. More hurt factor. If you asked me whether I'd prefer Shuey play a blinder and Gaff a shocker or the other way around, I'd go the former everyday. Priddis by the nature of his role isn't worth tagging - your best bet is to shut down his handball options and force him to kick his patented rainbow helicopter turnovers.

All you guys complaining about CEY not being listed as an EMG are surely taking the piss right?

His past few games in the SANFL have been rather underwhelming - based on stats and those listed as BOG for our side (really, outside of his first game back at SANFL level where he had 38 touches and 2 goals, his stats haven't been anything special).

CEY was playing good footy in the AFL but was "rested" in the green singlet. He arguably won that game for us when he came on but needed additional "rest" in the SANFL. In his first game in the twos he showed he was a class above that level but this was ignored. In recent weeks he hasn't been used purely as an inside midfielder (have to let Wrighty, vB and DMac rack up the possessions) and his numbers have declined.

A simple question Dylan, exactly how many of the SANFL matches have you attended since he was dropped?

Regarding the emergencies, we have an additional problem this week because the twos play on Saturday and it is their last match for the season. We have to ensure anyone who is in the frame for a recall next week (or hopefully for the finals) gets a decent hit out this week. I would not be surprised if this is used as a reason to justify dropping Lyon and bringing DMac in as the sub.

My point is that there are still two standards applied. vB, Wrighty and DMac were allowed to play numerous poor games before being sent to the twos yet any hint of good form and they are back in contention. CEY, Lyon, Grigg, Kelly are dropped at the slightest hint of a poor game and their SANFL form is ignored.

And as for Kerridge, I have a source who revealed that he injured his ankle falling off a trampoline in a drunken stupor whilst admiring his girlfriend's new boob job.*

Good input.

Love Shuey's game. He's a great player, no doubt and I have no issues admitting your knowledge is probably superior to mine when it comes to the Eagles.

Is Shuey as consistent as Gaff? More? Who is more likely to be completely shut out by a good tag?

As I said in my post, I was basing my opinion on stats and the coach voting for BOG - living in Melbourne means I don't get to the SANFL.

You won't find me questioning what he did at AFL level and I still believe he shouldn't have been dropped when he was. I also don't buy the needing a rest but then playing SANFL - as has been floated around with Cheney who has been playing at that level for a month + now.

I guess that sort of shows how we rate them. Whilst I don't like that he's been pushed down the peaking order in the SANFL side for the likes of Wright/Mackay/Van Berlo it's understandable. They've finally been dropped from AFL level but they still deserve a chance to earn their position in the side and would be ahead in the pecking order over CEY (even though I view him ahead of them). Guys like CEY are just unfortunate that he's been pushed out of playing as an inside midfielder.

That said, CEY stats still haven't been anything special, there's been no talk (in the SANFL thread) of him looking great/pushing for selection with his performances which have basically been backed up with the coaches votes (can't recall him being listed in the best 6 since his 38 disposal 2 goal game) which brings me back to my point of questioning how people could really be shocked that he wasn't listed as EMG for a second week running.

As for your final point, I don't disagree. At least we're beginning to move in the right direction as they've had serious heat on their roles and all 3 have come out of the side. They still deserve a chance to redeem themselves in the SANFL though, someone is always going to lose out. I don't buy into them being back into contention that much because our EMG change just about every week this year and it doesn't seem like it's ever been the best 3 from the SANFL from the week before that become the EMG for the following week.

I've been watching nearly all west coasts games this year as I have a soft spot for them. Wellingham is a big out , he's been vital in defence for them this year. It wouldn't surprise me if Yeo is on Tex. I swear they put Yeo on Pav in the Derby?

Wont matter if the ball isn't down there

Don't be that guy. West Coast fans have conducted themselves really well so far. Please don't spoil the party.
I think he just means tex will kick them from 75m out

Back in the day we would've given the hurt factor...Bring back McDermott Bicks and Roo:(
We need to orchestrate a hospital pass to Shuey and run Lairdy through him.

Lever, Laird, Crouch x2, and Cameron are our new hurt factor. Most serious hurt factor we've had for years.

It would be nice to freshen up the Sauce bottle...give a young tyro a crack in his place.
We already have by giving JJ more minutes in ruck the last couple of weeks.

We should not be doing a Freo & resting a stack of players as we should be aiming for 6th spot & a home final.

No issue subbing out top players if the game is in control or resting a player or 2 who is carrying a niggle - where it won't make any difference playing another player.

I'm being serious. How do you think WC has conceded so little with so many defensive players out? I'd guess WC has the least amount of inside 50s of any team this season. Is this stat somewhere?

Can we just agree that West Coast are completely awesome; the best of besty bests ever! And now you can piss off back to your own board.

You're the one making the claim. Onus is on you to back it up. So you're seriously suggesting the ball won't go in to our forward half at all? **** off champ.

I didn't know he could ruck!o_O:D

I didn't say a stack.
Id just like to rest one. And don't tell me he couldn't benefit from some R&R.
Yes yes I know we'd be flirting with form yada yada yada but would you consider it if 6th spot went down the gurgler?

Agree - it would be smart to rest any players with niggles - as long as it's only a few, next week.

JJ's rucking has improved... though coming from a low base ;)

In previous years I'd have said Shuey was more consistent, but Gaff has been more consistent this year. They have both been prone in the past to be shut out by a hard tag, but we haven't seen too much of it this year tbh (we haven't been tagging and neither has most of our opposition). I'm not sure who I would tag out those 2 if I had to choose. Probably start with Shuey.
