SPP was exactly the same. Played in bursts in the WAFL. I think Venables is the sort of guy that will be ok at AFL level. He scores goals every week and every touch he has is class. Its not like any player has dominated off the HF so far.

Yes, agreed. Venables looks all class. He is a powerful, silky looking player. I really want him to be selected but they will want to make sure he can run a game out at AFL level.

He felt tightness in his hamstring so they took him off as a precaution. I'd say he will be ok.

What is the feeling about Duggan for the rest of this season? He's averaging about 14 disposals from 7 games this year and averages 12.6 over his career with just the three games over 20 disposals in his career.

Watching him against the Gold Coast, he really struggled to cover the ground. He was trying, but just couldn't run at any clip defensively.

Has the hamstring injury earlier in the year set him back a lot or is this lack of ability to find the footy a long term problem?

I remember reading a comment here a year ago about Duggan wtte "there is something wrong with this picture."

Definitely agree on Duggan, just because he's young doesn't mean he gets a free pass when other young players can't get a game or string too many together.

If we are just waiting for someone in the WAFL to prove they are 100000000% ready we will end up with Priddis LeCras Butler etc playing every game for the year. After some good signs its time for guys like Parto Lamb and Cole to get a few consecutive games to show what they can do.

Duggan needs a month in the WAFL. Why is he exempt to the standards we want? Because he is young???

Cripps>Venables... Cripps was awful on Sat, our worse imo, has to be dropped after that performance (side note, we haven't won since he's been back). DVs grunt and attitude could provide a spark in that role.

Priddis>Partington... If Pridda if playing less mid and more up forward, why not put someone in that spot who can use the ball and has a bit of pace, can also take Priddas (reduced) mid mins

Butler>Wellingham... Sammy's done imo, heart in mouth anytime he gets it now, turns it over so often and in terrible spots.

Lecras>Barrass... Barrass in to play down back, move Gov forward and Darling plays the Lecras role. Lecca cooked. Schofield to play more rebounding defender.
